This hotel is very big on not wasting. They are environmental activists. Nothing is extra: no pens, no post it, no hotel information in the room, no bible, no washer/dryer price, sign or information (btw it’s $3 each in quarters), no pool or breakfast info. Everything is given verbally. 1 soap bar, 1 shampoo and 1 body lotion for 5 people for 2 nights. You need to ask for extra. The only thing that was provided at will in the shower was the conditioner. The shower head is water saver but at least the temperature is great, the electricity shuts off if a room card is not inserted in the wall. No ice compartment in the mini fridge. No iced water or hot water available in the lobby. Again you need to ask the front desk for it which we found very annoying. They do not have Keurig. The hotel being configured like a U shape, the elevator in the curve is super busy behind the lobby. Be prepared to be annoyed by the multiple ding ding ding until you reach the 4th floor. I exited so many times at the wrong floor because it’s so busy and slow… The pool was clean and hot tub very hot with strong power. Plenty of fresh towels available. Only 2 lounge chairs. The common areas (lobby, elevator, restrooms) were extremely clean and smells good or bleach. The janitor was doing an excellent job and deserves a raise. Plenty of free parking. The wifi is very good and free. The tv offers good channels. The breakfast was basic but free and convenient. Nothing fancy. No waffles machine to make your own fresh waffles. No yogurt. The hot buffet was barely hot and plain. Basic fruits, cereals, toasts, oatmeal, watery juice, coffee and tea. The street noise is loud. First the window was not shutting down so we slept with it slightly opened the first night. We had to call maintenance. The employee had to climb on the AC to slam shut the window for us… the noise level got slightly better the next night but you can hear the traffic in the morning during rush hours. On the other hand we never heard noise from the construction site on the side of the hotel. The sofa bed was dirty (permanent stains on the cushions) but the bed itself, the sheets and the pillow were clean. Cleanliness was just OK. You could see crumbs here and there in the corners of the elevators and in the room, but nothing major. No mold. No hair. The beds were extra clean. The sofa bed was very convenient and a big plus for our family of 5. Overall we’ll come back because the price was right for...
Read moreWhile the room wasn't too bad, the service and amenities were virtually non-existent. After not having housekeeping service for my first five nights, I stopped by the desk at 830 in the morning and asked if I could request housekeeping service. The desk agent told me that housekeeping wasn't provided unless you were staying for more than four days. Since I was staying for seven, she said that I would receive service that day. Upon return to my room late that day I had not received room service nor did I on the following (my last) day. I wouldn't have been too disappointed if they had said that they only provided room service every four or five days on their website, on check-in, or as a note in the room but they did/do not. The information in the room states there is a daily "refresh" with bed linens changed every third day. This was particularly annoying because in order to get new towels you have to put the old ones on the floor. Thus if you don't know your aren't getting housekeeping service in accordance with the published schedule you put a used and wet towel on the floor only to find a still used and wet towel on the floor in the evening when you return. Ultimately no housekeeping service was provided over my entire 7 day stay. When booking their COVID-19 update stated, "In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the property is implementing additional measures to protect the safety of guests and staff, including but not limited to enhanced cleaning and sanitization procedures." They were certainly not enhanced. As for amenities, they were well below price, star, and brand expectation. Rather than a restaurant and what was actually a well reviewed breakfast, they chose to offer for purchase a frozen microwavable breakfast sandwich. I understand that government regulatory complexities and staffing issues could led to them choosing to not have the advertised food options, but for management to decide that they can't offer the listed "free breakfast" and then think the best option is to sell frozen breakfast sandwiches doesn't seem particularly customer focused. You take away something that is free and offer something worse...
Read moreThis was one of the most frustrating stays I have ever had. It began as soon as I checked it. I went up to my room to find a mini construction site. The light above the mirror was all taken apart and I had the long fluorescent light bulbs sitting in the middle of my room as well as the light cover, a box with wires, some tools, and a ripped pillow case. I understand that things happen but really?? Does no one check to make sure a room is check in ready before putting a guest in there? Well, then I went back and forth with the front desk and was told someone will be up to fix it right away. I waited for over an hour, then finally went to the desk to see what was going on as well as pick up my dinner and was told “yeah I guess maintenance already left for the day. Someone will fix it tomorrow, but don’t worry, we’re going to comp your dinner for tonight”. Because comping my $13 dinner is going to make up for the inconvenience and the fact that there’s still a mess in my room. Next day I leave to head out to my meeting at 8am. I come back around 5pm and guess what. Not only is the light situation not fixed, but housekeeping left my room door OPEN!! I call the front desk to notify them of that and get a status update, my door being left open was completely disregarded and was met with a “we’re sending someone up now”. Well the man that came to fix it was awesome but told me no one mentioned the issue to him until just before he came up to my room. WHAT THE HELL. Then, the final nail in the coffin cake just as I was flying back home. I looked at my receipt and see how much I was charged per night. Initially, my booking price was $109 a night. Then I got an email from my company saying they had a deal at the hotel, and I just had to mention the company name. WELL, instead of it being less, my $109 price went up to $125. Yes it’s only a few $ but I’m not really sure why it wasn’t communicated or why I’d be charged more if my initial rate was less. Honestly I would have given this hotel a review of 1 star but the maintenance man that fixed my room was totally cool and I appreciated him so much. But I 100% will...
