I had cigarette smoke coming through the vents all night, and as someone with bad asthma, I had to leave early because my lungs were closing up. The front desk staff did nothing to help when I asked for assistance.
UPDATE: Jay, thank you for responding to my review. This was a very serious situation, as I ended up having to go to the ER for an emergency breathing treatment because my lungs were severely affected by the cigarette smoke—my inhaler didn't even work. Even after leaving the hospital, I still felt like I was breathing through a straw, and that sensation lasted for weeks.
I understand that my level of sensitivity due to asthma may not be common, and that many places might not fully grasp the severity of having lungs close up quickly when an asthma attack is triggered. Some of your employees did not seem to understand how serious this situation was for someone who was literally being smoked out of what was supposedly a non-smoking room. I assumed that since it was labeled as a non-smoking room, I would finally be able to get some much-needed sleep in a safe environment, especially for anyone suffering from asthma, COPD, or other lung issues.
However, I woke up at 4 AM to a room filled with cigarette smoke, as if someone was smoking right inside. I had to get out of bed and politely ask a staff member, who was smoking with a guest right outside my door, to please move away because I am asthmatic and the smoke made it feel like someone was smoking in my room. Instead, I received an eye roll and an unhelpful attitude, forcing me to ask multiple times for them to move so I could breathe.
Eventually, another staff member, who I assume was on break, left, but the guest continued to chain smoke in front of my door. This situation caused me to pack up my things and leave well before checkout. I asked the staff and the manager on duty for help but received no response. I ultimately had to leave because nothing was done to ensure my environment was safe. Not one employee or manager showed any empathy.
I appreciate you responding, Jay, and letting me know you’ll bring this to your staff's attention. I hope measures will be taken to enforce a no-smoking policy near non-smoking rooms. Now that you completely understand what happened that night, I would consider returning if offered a complimentary night and a late checkout as compensation for the early morning inconveniences that led to my visit to the ER, hours away from home. If that's something that you're open to let me...
Read moreMy wife and I paid through priceline with a digital card. Upon check in, they requested my ID and physical card. I explained I paid on priceline. Showed the receipt. Still he insisted I give a Physical card. I asked how they run cards. He told me they used a card reader, I said great then use it with my card, I'll tap no problem. He said he can't do that. I said OK. Run the numbers manually. He said no and insisted on a card. He then looks at me as if was stupid and hands back my ID. I was taken back. So I began to record the transaction as he continued to deny my attempts to pay. He ignored me and walked away. I walked out to my wife, got her phone and showed him the digital receipt from the payment I made with my digital card from priceline. He said the best he could do after covering his face was provide me a receipt showing I didn't pay for the room or rather was not charged. To be honest I felt a little discriminated for the first time in a long time. I was denied the ability to speak to a manager or even attempt to comply for a cheap 78 dollar room after a 12 hour drive. I was forced to go down the road to the Hilton for a 200 dollar room. They did discount me and treated me accordingly. They took my digital payment and worked with me. I also contacted priceline who informed me that they would would be resolving the situation as well as reimbursing me the difference of the room for the inconvenience. Dave, the guy at the counter at the qulity inn was extremely unprofessional and seems to need more/better training or new employment. Either way, I'm glad I recorded this interaction so no one can come back with excuses or blame shifting as I've seen on many of the negative reveiw responses on Google. The camera doesn't lie. I would not recommend this place if it was giving away free rooms as after reading a few reviews and this experience, they seem shadier than the dark side of the moon.
As I said jay, I recorded the interaction. I offered the card numbers to be ran manually and yes that can be done with any reader. But hey, we can try to deflect again. I gave solutions and options and paid on priceline. I have the receipts to prove it. You guys are running...
Read moreIf I could give anyone any advice, please stay away from this hotel. I attempted to check in late after I had pre-booked months before. I am a person with a disability. And I also have a service animal, which I checked on before I pre-booked the room. Once I arrived, the desk clerk told me that he could not give me the accessible room because it was not pet friendly. I said I do not have a pet. I said it’s a service animal not a pet, he said it’s a pet. I said four times. It wasn’t a pet. He called the manager and asked the manager if it was OK if I stayed there in that room. Keep in mind that this is 11:30 PM. He came back to me and said yes you can stay in that room as long as you keep it clean and don’t get dog hair all over the place. I didn’t bother to say anything to him because we were tired from driving all day. I opened the door to my room and it was immediately faced with a smell of mould. I went into the bathroom to check things over and there was black mould on the wall. Also, a cockroach was flying behind the shower curtain. I went back down to the front desk and I said this room is not acceptable. I would like to have another room. He said we have your original room upstairs however that’s not accessible. I said can I go have a look at it to see if I can manage for the night? He called the manager again. They said that was OK. He gave me the keys. I attempted the 500 foot walk with my walker. Then the desk clerk came running up the stairs and said ma’am I’m sorry. I have to get the keys back from you. I rented the room to somebody else.||||Don’t ever stay at this place. It’s a dump, there’s empty cups and beer cans all over the place outside. There is even a random barbeque sitting in the middle of the parking lot. Pay the extra money and stay at a Hampton Inn or somewhere else that cares about their customers. I don’t know where the good reviews are coming from but this place because it is an absolute...
