was very disappointed with my stay. I booked two rooms for my daughter’s wedding weekend—one for myself (Thursday–Sunday) and one for my parents (Friday–Saturday). My mom is wheelchair-bound, so it was essential that they have the one handicap-accessible room with a walk-in shower, as shown on the booking app. Before the wedding, I confirmed with the front desk that this was indeed the room my parents would receive, and was told yes.
When my parents arrived after driving three hours, they were checked into the room only to find it completely unusable—mattress and box spring pushed against the window, trash bags left in the bathroom, and overall not prepared for guests. After moving all their belongings and my mom back down to the front desk, staff admitted, “Oops, we aren’t supposed to use that room,” and reassigned them.
The new “accessible” room only had a standard tub with a grab bar, which my mom cannot use. This left her without a safe way to shower or use the restroom during the most important weekend—her granddaughter’s wedding. I had to pause wedding preparations to scramble for a solution. No other hotels in the area had a walk-in shower available. In the end, the best I could do was find an emergency appointment for her to wash her hair, which cost $75 just so she could feel somewhat prepared for the wedding. Despite that, she went two full days unable to shower.
What should have been a joyful weekend was made unnecessarily stressful and upsetting. My parents and I were left struggling with unsafe and inadequate accommodations, despite the hotel’s prior confirmation that the correct room was reserved. To make matters worse, multiple staff members were unable to offer any meaningful solution or even a discount for the trouble, despite the fact that they had confirmed the accessible room just the day before.
This experience was deeply disappointing, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone needing reliable accessible accommodations. If a hotel cannot provide or guarantee the accessibility features it advertises, it should not list them at all. Misrepresenting accessibility is unacceptable and leaves families like mine in...
Read moreFor the price, it's not the best room. There is a lot of Lack of Details that you'd expect for over $100 a night. For instance, I pulled back the covers, and this little morsel was there. After a brief panick, it was a large piece of black fuzz. It was not only between the sheets, it was also on the towels and washcloths.
The corners of all the rooms rooms were filthy. They haven't been cleaned in a long time. The recent remodel was bare bones and the fit and finish of the new tile was not top quality. The tub had some non-slip stickers in that were discolored dark. The curtain allowed water to make its way out of the tub and the water then ran into the entrance way, out of the bathroom. The AC wasn't working properly. It was not removing the humidity from the room. You can hear the water sloshing, but it was very humid and sticky in the room. Hall floors were lumpy and that elevator needs to be serviced and the current certificates to be posted and not made available upon request.
The breakfast bar was again mediocre. Placement of the waffle maker was away from the rest of the items when it could have fit on the counters properly next to the syrup warmer and the other fixings. Eggsz sausage, and American fried cu es. 3 kinds of cereal and yogurt and a small collection of bagles. Milk, juice and coffee. Not spectacular, but it was good. The new seating in that area was great and even the seating at the lobby area was good but a little impractical with high seating at tables. I didnt use the pool, but it was viewed from the hallway where everyone walked by and it looked nice. Small, but nice. I'd say a better price for the room should be around 65$ per night and it's right at a 1.5-2 star.
Oh.... and I have to mention that the staff was outstanding! Very very nice folks and answered all my questions and had very positive attitudes. The best part...
Read moreTo start, very comfy bed and a nice clean room. That is the positive. It’s a fairly “nice” hotel.
On the other hand, I am very disappointed with my experience. We had a room reserved for 2 nights. Upon check-in, everything “seemed” fine. When we left to go out for dinner, the door would not lock behind us. In other words, if we were to leave our door would be unlocked and there would be a chance our belongings would get stolen. When I called the front desk, they told me they were aware and would get it fixed in the next day or 2. So my first question is, how do you have a room available knowing that it will not lock?
I called the front desk and they suggested to just “put up a do not disturb sign”. Cause of course THAT would prevent a thief from coming in and stealing my $200 suit or my iPad. I asked for a different room and they didn’t have another available. So when we went out to dinner, we took our luggage with us. That sucked.
The next day, they gave us a new room and I was thankful. However, it did not have a couch like the previous room. A very nice room with a comfortable bed, but not what we paid for.
Summary? I paid over $200 for 2 nights and did not get what I was supposed to. A room that wouldn’t lock and the next night a room without a couch. I feel ripped off. I am hoping to...
