My family and I were quite impressed with this place. On the outside, it looks like a local diner that doesn't have anything special going for it. Most local dives usually have something special going for them, their food and their service. This place isn't a dive itself, however it does sit in front of a dive of a motel so it's unfortunate for this gem. It's truly a diamond in the rough.
During this time of COVID, it's interesting to see places like this packed. I was a bit concerned for the fact that no one, including the staff wore masks, especially since we're on the upswing again, due to the delta variant. The only artifact related to COVID I saw was the plastic shield that separated the customer from the cashier. We're passing through town for an event, and notice most people in town don't wear masks, so that always concerns us.
When we arrived, there were at least three other groups in front of us. We were greeted quickly and within a matter of 3 minutes the groups and my family were all seated. Fastest I've ever been seated with that number of people in front of us. Might be luck but I tend to doubt it because everything was fast, and with quality going forward.
We were sat down and within the minute our waitress greeted us at our table and promptly took our drink order and again, within what felt like a minute came back with our drinks. She gave us a few minutes to look over the menu and was quick to return to take our order. When we go to any restaurant, we expect to wait some time to get our meal, considering the size of our family (think nuclear).
We ordered a skillet, omelet, Mickey pancake, and a full breakfast plate (think eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, toast). All of the food was excellent and in perfect size portions (almost too much even, but no complaints :) ). The food was the perfect temp and the perfect flavor. I had asked for some Tabasco and was informed they have their own house sauce as well, so I optioned for both and I'm glad I did. Their house sauce was really good. Light in flavor, but it has a nice heat to it that makes the food that much more enjoyable if you like heat. Adding both the Tabasco and their sauce made for a nice combo. Everyone was nice and full and very pleased with their dishes.
What I didn't mention yet was how fast the meal came. After we gave our waitress our order, we conceded to the fact it would take some time to receive our meals, as that is the standard no matter where we go. However, we were all gob smacked when our meals came out within what felt like 5 minutes, or if anything 5-8 minutes maybe. Our first plate was served and we thought, oh this is just toast and they'll bring the rest when it's ready, but no, it was all dishes! Talk about fast AND impressed!
Our waitress was spot on as well. She was very kind, personable, and was attentive to us and our kids, having fun with them at opportune moments. After making sure we had what we wanted, then she went back to her busy tables, and when we got to the end of our drinks she remembered what each of us had without any prompts from her notes and to my surprise, since she was so busy elsewhere. I've always marveled at how wait staff can remember all these details for each table without having to refer back to their notebooks.
The restaurant was well kept, clean and modern looking on the inside.
Overall, my family and I were very impressed with the promptness, the kindness, cleanliness, and the quality of the food. I definitely recommend this place to any commercial outfit. These folks know what they're doing and they do it well. Thanks for a wonderful...
Read moreWasn't going to leave a review but after being accused of lying by a manager and his buddy from the board if health in Warsaw, I figured I should now. Went there on Saturday October 5h 2024 and met my parents from across the state to have lunch with my kids for about an hour. No one at my table had the same food. My dad had a smothered burger and I a Thai bowl. Kids and my mom had cold sandwiches and fried food. Fast forward about 30 hours later Sunday night. I was experiencing symptoms of food poisoning that lingered for about 10 hours. Unknowingly my father who lives on the other side of the state had told me Tuesday evening when I called him and my mom for her birthday that he was sick on Sunday as well. Started around the same time I fell sick. We compared symptoms and determined the only common thing this weekend was eating at this restaurant. No other family members were sick in each household, no one else got sick around the same time, not even up to today and at the restaurant we were even seated in a room with no other patrons. I called yesterday and was told my info would be given to the manager in the morning. I waited til after lunch and called back. My intention of calling was made clear with each call interaction that I just wanted to alert them to 2 cases of food poisoning. I didn't want my dad to be refunded, I didn't want a gift card and I didn't want to be accused of lying. Well the manager I spoke with has to be buddies with the board of health guy cause they were all chummy on the phone and talked about how he ate there all the time .. Told me no way it was food poisoning cause it's outside the window.. Well I think they need to go back to serve safe traing cause they had to failed it since that is a lie. Steer clear of this place unless you want to be having diarrhea and vomit happening at the same time coming out of you. Letting them know is a waste of time so I hope I help others...
Read moreWhile traveling through, chose this restaurant based on the reviews, but, our experience was...underwhelming. First, sampled the Ranch dressing... sorry, worse than Kraft bottled. My tasteless Baked Lasagna was broken boiled noodles with sauce poured over it and microwaved. Hubs Meatloaf was dry, off-tasting meat(?) with instant mashed potatoes with an unidentifiable flavored grayish gravy. We could have complained, but we muscled thru as much as we could, as our thoughts were that with both of our meals being sub-par, we didn't feel it would get any better. We are not ones to leave food behind, taking unsatisfying food home to repair, but we both left half our plates on the table. Wait staff was pleasant, facility was clean and well maintained, wheeled chairs were a fun different touch. ...but the...
