Was in the area for business. I booked the hotel on a travel site. My background is in hotels. I worked for an organization that audited hotels by doing surprise inspections. So, my point of view is from that. First, the signage; not great. There is a sign by the road but it sits pretty low. There is another sign that you add your letters to, it was dreadful. All mismatched letters and it looked like something straight out of the ghetto. The driveway to it is in need of repair.
I understand this isn't a resort but a hotel needs to have some pride in ownership. The young girl checking me in was nice enough. Rooms: on sight, they appear clean and thought out. Plenty of lighting, plenty of places to charge your phone. Shortly getting into my room, I tried calling the front desk by picking up the receiver and pressing the front desk button. I made a few attempts to no avail and ended up using my cell phone to request a WI-FI password and toilet paper.
The young girl quickly brought toilet paper and told me I didn't need a password for the WI-FI. I asked her if it was secure and she said yes.
It was in fact not a secure connection so I immediately turned my WI-FI off.
Up until after 11pm, there were men standing outside of my room talking and being loud. They appeared to be possibly local tradesmen? No clue, but ad a solo traveler this was very unnerving and caused anxiety. The rooms are not soundproof at all. You can literally hear everything in every room. The peep hole is way too high on the door and I'm 5'8" and I couldn't see out of it. Light comes through the door around the edge because, and I'm guessing it's because the building is old.
When I came out in the morning after basically no sleep all night. People were parked all over the grassy areas which REALLY makes the hotel look undesirable.
I will say that the owners have attempted to update the rooms. The sheets were clean and smelled clean, but upon fully pulling the blanket back, there was some type of dye stain on the sheets. Had I noticed prior to the morning, I would have certainly said something. I didn't use the shower. In the bathroom, the vent plastic cover was not on correctly, which left an opening in the ceiling.
Final thoughts: I imagine it's no easy talk buying a hotel and making it a success. But, at the rate of $145 a night, I do expect better.
The way the hotel is now, I wouldn't expect to pay more than $65-$70 a night. The TV isn't cable. They use Roku.
I won't be back to the area, and if anyone I know heads that way, I'll tell them my honest thoughts.
The hotel and grounds need work and its overpriced, but I will give credit for making it nicer than it probably once was. When I checked out, the older woman was cordial but appeared annoyed that I wanted a...
Read moreAs several other reviews mentioned, this property has been recently renovated and the rooms are very bright, neat and clean. The photos I’ve seen posted are an accurate representation of the property. Pretty basic amenities overall, but an excellent value for the price. Great convenient, inexpensive and comfortable room for an overnight stop.
PROs: Neat, clean and modern renovated design. Excellent shower. Very comfortable bed. Convenient to I-71 freeway but Relatively quiet despite close proximity to freeway. Good breakfast selections.
CONs: Noisy AC unit (even though it’s new??). Curtains don’t block enough light from from parking lot and balcony lights. Outside area could use sprucing up- first impression of property is not good. Interior is much nicer than exterior. Desk staff was ok, but seemed pretty young and inexperienced. Not a professional appearance or demeanor at all (both day and night shift).
Again- as a guest, don’t be too put off by unfinished look of exterior or lackluster desk staff. The rooms really are very clean and comfortable, so it is still a great value (for this type/class of hotel)
Note to management/owners: you better keep on top of your staff to make sure this property gets kept up. If your maintenance staff is anything like your desk staff, your nicely renovated property will...
Read moreI had the best experience here! I had to do a late check in after getting the rudest service at a camping spot near by, after it rained all day..we had to abandon camp. we got the best service from the front desk girl that checked us in, to the breakfast staff in the morning, they were absolutely helpful, polite and caring. Helped with breakfast, helped my daughter pick something to watch while we ate breakfast and made sure we got everything we didn't know we needed. The rooms were very nice, clean and renovated. I'd give the place 100 stars , and if I'm ever in the area again it would be my top pick! Way Togo days inn!! Top notch customer service and I would 100% recommend ! Some places dont understand customer service is what counts! Also had USB ports for charging your phone , a certain hotel near by is no where near as updated , and they'd charge 3x the amount and make you get a extra room if you exceed people "per room" and it's suppose to be a family vacation spot! I love you days inn keep up the good work and awesome customer service! 👏 so good to get to rave about such a great business! Thanks for all you do, and the amazing...
