First time and last time there. It’s a one and done kind of place.
The man taking orders whom the waitress told me was the owner/boss. White hair and beard is rude. Rude to me for asking about ice water. Many places sells bottled water but also has tap. How dare I ask. Won’t happen again sir I guarantee you that.
I wouldn’t come back for a free meal.
Rude looks given to someone’s kid who accidentally overflowed his drink cup.
The sign about refills being a courtesy is very unwelcoming especially after selling us such a small cup for drinks in the first place which we had to run back and forth 3 times for a refill. No wonder that kid got a nasty look for wasting a little pop. I so much wanted to leave a full cup of pop on the table when I left but I’m too decent to do so.
Fries was greasy and soggy. Clearly cooked in an oil temp that was too low. The buns can’t hold up to the burger or hotdog. Part of the hotdogs bun was hard. The Mac and cheese was odd colored and nothing to write home about. The Mountain Dew was awesome.
We didn’t waste the food because it was alot of money. Way more than planned from the last menu we seen online. Most things was $10 and now $12.50ish.
The place smelled like an old musty antique store which was to be expected but the more we looked around the more we had to stop looking.
There was an AC unit above us but it wasn’t on it was very dirty looking anyways but it was hot and stuffy. No AC or air circulation at all.
My to go lid was laid food side down on the table. Which is gross in a public place.
We made the best of it but the businesses in Belleville needs to find a better credit card company. We paid cash to not be charged a percentage of our meal on top of tax but another place in town also charges that same % on top of tax and we was charged it even though we paid with cash at that place. Unheard of but two different places charges this.
We never ever ever looked at the negative reviews for this place the high rating was enough. However once we left I began looking at the negative reviews and much was our experience to a T even with the same rude man and experience. Won’t be back. I could say it was a bad day and give another chance but the reviews that was negative went back at least two years of the same experience we had. So that tells me this is what to expect. Money is stretched tighter now days. I will give money to who appreciates their customers and the customers kids as this should have been fun and kid friendly at...
Read moreWhat an incredible find off the highway! My baby and I were half way through a 6 hour drive and stopped for an excuse to run around outside. I spotted the Indian chief riding a horse from the road and looked up to see an old fashioned locomotive turned into a restaurant! I have never been so pleasantly surprised by a cute idea AND delicious food! The whole time we were there we were the only people sitting in the restaurant (thanks COVID) but they had a steady stream of people coming in to pick up To-Go orders so I hope they are plenty busy! The ladies working there were very friendly and helpful. I was even more surprised to find out they have a changing table in the restroom! What a find! I ordered the special of the day which was an enormous burger with peppered bacon cooked to perfection, Mozzarella cheese (unexpectedly incredible), BBQ sauce and THREE pineapples! They called it the Hawaiian and I was blown away! It was a perfect messy burger and I had to wash my hands twice in the process of eating it! I tried it with fries and the fried pickles. ABSOLUTELY the right move! The fries are that perfect kind of crisp where they're fluffy on the inside and made of real potatoes. Did I mention they have a bunch of land and a whole Wild West scene out back?! They have a little wooden train for the kids to play on (thanks to COVID by baby has never played on such things so she didn't want to get on it but enjoyed placing rocks on it) and plenty of room to stretch the legs of a very full traveler. I highly recommend eating here! If it is out of your way, make it happen. Thank you for a...
Read moreWent on the advice of a friend and we were not disappointed. They have two paved handicap spots versus gravel for all other parking. They do have a ramp and accessible seating inside. You order as soon as you walk in and they bring your food to your table. They have a good variety of burgers to choose from, plus other sandwiches. They had several soups and smaller basket meals for smaller appetites. I had the patty melt which was one of the best I've had in awhile. It was a thick juicy burger loaded with chopped onions and mozzarella cheese (I strongly dislike swiss) on beautifully grilled rye bread. It came with a mound of hand cut fries and the crispier ones were amazing. My partner got the special for the day which was a Hawaiian burger with grilled pineapple slices, thick crispy strips of bacon, cheese, bbq sauce, lettuce and tomato. The thing was HUGE!! You had to really struggle to get your mouth around everything for a bite. My partner used a fork/knife because of its size and how messy it was, but my Dad always said "the messier, the better a sandwich is". She got a huge cup of crab bisque instead of fries and said it was beyond delicious. The 10 year old with us ordered the pizza burger (pizza sauce, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese) and fries and his eyes almost popped out of his head at the amount of food set down in front of him. He surprised us by eating the entire burger and about a third of his fries. I would definitely recommend stopping in if you're in the area and be prepared to be overwhelmed with Ohio State...
