Sports Club Motel — Hotel in Wayne

I'll begin with the positives. The room was clean enough. Certainly not spotless (spots on the wall, discolored shower curtain, stuff like that), but it was acceptably clean. The bedding appeared to be clean as well, you could tell it was a bit old but the sheets and everything were fine. Also, the staff seemed like genuinely nice people and gave you that cozy, small town feel. They also had wifi that worked and was easy to use, it was slow, but it was certainly better than no wifi at all.||Unfortunately, that's it.||Now the negatives:||First, I was booked a smoking room. Now this is obviously more an error of the people who booked the room for me, but I honestly didn't know smoking rooms were still an option. Either way the room absolutely stank. Every time I entered my room I was greeted with a wall of smoke smell upon crossing the threshold; not the first impression I was hoping for. On the not so bad side it didn't seem like the bedding smelled like smoke.||The entire building also felt extremely dated. I could actually feel when the unit next to me opened and closed the door to their room and sat down on the bed because the walls were so thin. The motel uses actual keys as opposed to the key cards modern travelers have come to expect. Each room has a deadbolt, but I still had to decide whether or not to leave my valuables in my room when I would leave for business each day; just not the most security-inspiring feature.||||In summary, would I stay there again? No, not by choice at least. If I was stuck in Wayne and the Sports Club Motel was the only place with a vacancy... and it was too cold to sleep in my car, then yes I would stay...

There is no way to say enough about this place. I stayed for an entire month while on a local job and was sad to have to leave. The Motel Manager, Deena, was exceptionally awesome and treated me like family. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the rooms are very nice. There is a coffeepot, refridge, microwave in room. Beds are comfortable. Water pressure in shower totally rocks!!! They give you fresh towels every day and make your bed. There is also a comfortable recliner in room so you can watch TV without having to lie in bed all day. There's a walking trail right out the backdoor which goes around the block or to the park up the street one block. Park is nice. Pizza Hut is right across the street as well as McDonald's. Grocery store is also in walking distance. Dairy Queen and Runza's are also within a block. These folks that run this place are wonderful and will make you feel at home. The price is absolutely awesome and reasonable especially for a weekly rate. They also have apartments in the same building. There's also a back patio for grilling or whatever. They welcomed my dog and there is plenty of grass to do business on. Parking right in front of room. They have coffee and rolls in the morning with a nice breakfast table to sit at if you choose. I loved this place and will go back as soon as I'm in the area again. Thank you Sports Club Motel!!

This place was GREAT! The staff is friendly and the rooms were clean and well furnished. The room doors are self locking so you don't have to remember to lock the door, just the key. They even had a recliner in the room I was in on top of a table with two chairs. This building is right along the highway in Wayne and yet you cannot hear the traffic in your room. Just to see how loud it was I opened the door and you can clearly hear traffic sounds but as soon as the door shuts it all goes away. The linens were all clean with no even a hint of stains on them. They had digital cable with flat screen tvs which was great because I could watch the game and the wifi had great signal strength and was fairly fast. Another thing is that the water was nice and hot with excellent pressure. The room also included a small fridge, a microwave, and a small coffee maker. All of these items worked without a problem. For a smaller motel this place definitely has taken the time to make sure they deliver everything that traveller's need! I will definitely be staying here the next time I am in town! I greatly enjoyed my stay here. Thanks for a great stay! I look forward to my next trip back just to enjoy this...
