2025 Summer Update:
Another wonderful stay! As soon as I opened the door to our suite I could tell the place felt fresher, cleaner, brighter. Sure enough, after I asked, I learned the carpet was removed and new flooring was installed. This tracks. I've observed some kind of improvement every time I stay here. I can't imagine what that must have cost times however many rooms this was done to.
The weather wasn't great this time. Luck of the draw. Our 3-day stay was primarily centered on beach days. I hoped to check out a few new ones. Well rain reduced that to a single beach trip on a single afternoon. Looks like we better find something else to do.
The indoor pool is always a hit and this time was no exception (more on how awesome the the pool is in my older review below). But this time, after staying here 4 times before, our "forced exploration" led us to a rec room we never even knew about. Gym equipment, darts, even a pool table. Plus, my 9-year-old discovered a love for puzzles. And so did I! There's always a puzzle in process on a table in the lobby. I always thought this was a cute idea, but we never stopped at it. Well we finished that puzzle, and then another! The lobby is large, bright, and inviting with plenty of seating.
Where normally our kids are playing outdoors and we're relaxing in the Adirondack chairs, or I spend all my time in the ocean or playing in the sand with the boys while my wife lounges in the shade of the beach tent, on this trip we spent more time together as a family. This made it one of our most memorable trips yet.
Spending more time at the Motel meant more interaction with the staff, especially at the front desk. The front desk seems to be staffed primarily by family members of this family-owned business. Having spent years in a family-owned business myself, this makes all the difference in how successful a business is. These are people who truly want to be there and who work all day to make your stay the very best it can be.
We stayed in late July 2022 and everything was perfect! We stayed for the first time almost exactly one year ago and our room somehow seemed even more bright and clean than we remembered. Sure enough there were significant updates: new decor, new color scheme, bedding, etc.
We had a few beach days planned and we enjoyed packing a little lighter this time since we learned last year that the Motel has all kinds of stuff they loan out for a trip to the beach: sand toys, beach chairs, etc. I have 2 boys, ages 6 and 7. I usually pack one or two things for us to do outside away from the beach, yard games, etc. No need for this either as the Hotel has all this right in the center of their complex: a playground, badminton, horseshoes, a basketball hoop, shuffleboard, even a few holes of mini golf. All the equipment, balls, etc. are all right there too. There are picnic tables and Adirondack chairs around so we were able to relax while the kids burned off some energy.
They have gas grills complete with all the grill tools needed and a massive indoor swimming pool. Our room had a separate bedroom and TV for the kids, and our room had wifi, a fridge and microwave. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and even the pull out couch featured a solid foam mattress which was very supportive.
The pool is very quiet during the day while everyone is at the beach but seems to get busier in the evening, but we never struggled to get our own area to lounge by the pool. There are lots of lounge chairs and patio sets, and the pool area is always very clean and cool and bright. There is even a bunch of floaty type stuff that kept my boys busy: pool noodles, kickboards, even a brand new boogie board.
We always hate leaving and can't...
Read moreThis was our 3rd stay in as many summers. This time, our oldest was up for the adventure, so it was my wife and I and our 3 boys. Our oldest is 18 and tends to want to stay up late and sleep in. We were in a family suite which made this totally doable as he had his own room with his own bed and his own TV! He shut himself in there and was happy as clam!||We stayed for a few days and eating all our meals out everyday really adds up so we usually hit a grocery store and "eat in" as much as feasible. We always take full advantage of the fridge, freezer and microwave in our suite and grill our dinner. The Motel has gas grills in the center of the complex, just steps from the family suites, along with picnic tables and trash cans which make this super convenient and enjoyable for us. I sometimes get nervous as dinnertime approaches that I may have to wait my turn for a grill but there's more than one grill and I've never waited for one. Not only that, the grills are super clean (the one I used was very obviously brand new!) and all the tools you need to cook are right there.||Some of the other things we've come to really enjoy and rely on at the Even'tide Resort: my wife and I love sipping our coffees in the morning in the Adirondack chairs right outside our room. As we do, our boys (7 and 8) play in the center complex which we have a great view of. There's a playground with swings and climbing equipment plus all manner of outdoor games-- shuffleboard, badminton, horseshoes, basketball court, even mini golf! There's never a shortage of things for us to do and there's plenty of outdoor seating there for my wife and I to relax. They also have what has got to be the largest pool I've seen at a lodging facility. And what's better? It's heated AND indoors! They even have a whole bunch of pool toys available which is something you rarely see allowed. The pool area is massive, clean, and one of our favorite ways to start and end our days there. We were blessed with perfect weather each day and spent most of our time at the beach but this would be a lifesaver on a rainy day.||A few tips if you're planning to stay here: if you love the beach like we do, the lobby has lots of things you'd need for a trip to the beach (beach chairs, umbrellas, etc.). This could allow you to pack a little lighter for your trip. There's coffee available right in your room; this may seem like a small thing, but my wife and I are always wondering about this when we stay someplace, so I figured I'd mention it. My wife casually mentioned to me, "There's the building right over there with the laundry facilities." I asked her how she knew that. Se said she used it last summer. I didn't even know that, but that's certainly convenient as we've struggled to find a laundromat on vacation before (especially when the kids were littler).||Another highlight of our trip this time: the Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is just a 4 minute drive down the road. We highly recommend...
Read moreWe just stayed a the Even'tide Resort Motel and Cottages this past long holiday weekend. We loved our stay! As a family of 5 we booked the one bedroom suite which worked out perfectly for us! There was plenty of room for us all and I found the mini fridge in the room quite helpful for snacks and drinks for the boys. Two TV's also worked out well :) The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. Both my husband and I appreciated the oyster artwork in the room!. We also loved learning it was a local artist and local oysters shells were used. ||||The property itself is fantastic, and worked out so well for us! Our boys commented they would love to return next year! There were so many activities I am sure our boys played them all and then some. A few family games of shuffle board and volleyball was a lot of fun for us all to enjoy together. The boys continued on playing basketball and on the pirate ship play area. They loved it! It was really lovely to be able to let them head out and play on their own and I felt safe and comfortable with it. They are getting to an age of independence and it was the perfect mix for both of us. They felt cool going to play shuffle board, and I felt comfortable with them going out of the room alone and play on the property. When we were sadly packing to go they left the room and we found them playing risk in the common room. It was fantastic to be able to pack up knowing they were fine and loved they were playing a game vs. being on a device! ||||Our team also loved the indoor pool! It was perfect especially for this time of year! They had a blast and both my husband and I were quite content relaxing by the pool while they played. ||||All the staff members we chatted with were friendly, engaging and offered great local tips! The location was also fantastic. Very easy to get into the town of Wellfleet which is super charming! We loved the town! Some of the best beaches we have visited on the Cape are also so close by. While we were unable to use the bike path this trip, we loved knowing it was so easily accessible. For future trips we will certainly bring our bikes! ||||Overall all it was an outstanding stay for everyone! As I said the boys rated it was one of their favorite stays, and I think they loved all the activities available for them to use, and they loved being able to head out and play on their own! We all look forward to returning! (and not sure if the complimentary locally made donuts are typically there or were special this weekend, but they were delicious special treat as well) Thank you all we had an...
