The location is close to the glacier west entrance and the price is a bit high for the quality of the sites. I wouldn’t pay a penny more than I did and honestly these sites should be $50 or under per night honestly. -It was extremely dusty -(back in site) the site we had shared water and electrical between the two side by side sites(in the middle of two sites beside each other) Meaning one site would have hooks ups on the correct side of a camper or Rv. However the side we were in that was not the case so you needed 2x the normal cables and hoses to reach around the camper to the water and electrical on the other site... and we didn’t have 60ft of cable or 60ft of water. (I know it’s our bad we should have been prepared) but luckily our camper is a Aliner and I’m able to swing the camper a full 360 in the very small site space easily. A normal Rv you would not be able to do this and if you didn’t have double the length of electrical and water hook ups you wouldn’t be able to reach them. We checked in early and once we realized this when we got to the site we tried to call the office to see if we could just swap to the site over next to us to avoid having to do the full 360 camper rotation but no one answered. Then no one even came to that site the entire 3 days we stayed. Just annoying is all. - luckily we were right across from the showers and bathroom as we didn’t pack our outside shower or porta potty (our camper dosnt have them inside) however this is another negative. The bathrooms were pretty “Mehh” worked but wasn’t really clean or nice. And the showers were a joke. The one closest to us had two shower heads in a corner. The one in the furthest corner was right beside the other so if you were in that one you had basically zero privacy. And since there was only 2 there’s was always a huge line waiting to shower so I never even had a chance to use the showers at all because I didn’t have hours to wait. Or you’d have to should 12am-3am when everyone was asleep. (Male bathroom). The wife said the women’s was the same issues her and my daughter only managed to be able to shower once during our stay. - there were cabins next to the bath house that played loud music up until 11pm when I finally managed to fall asleep. Idk if it went in longer but seems like quiet hours are a suggestion I’m guessing. - Verizon cell service was ok. I only had 1-2 bars but it worked enough to text call and load a video if you gave it a few seconds. -Wi-Fi was time limited to 30m sessions and only available if you walked alllll the way back to the office. The. It would make you sign in again. But honestly my 1-2 bars of service was way faster. Wi-Fi is a joke and I wouldn’t even consider calling it an amenity. - the people in the office were super nice but we had about 4-5 people try and check in around the same time and it took us a half hour just to get checked in waiting in the office. -our specific site was super unlevel as well. Like way way more than any campground we have been to. It was the first time ever I didn’t have enough leveling blocks to level my little camper. Very very unlevel so bring a lot of blocks. -the electrical post for the hook up was also extremely wobbly! I could have pulled it outta the ground with relative ease. And the box didn’t have a circuit breaker on it. So you can’t plug everything in then turn the power on. So surge protector I would highly recommend. Overall if your trying to see west glacier and don’t wanna spend the 3-4x the price of the KOA that’s right beside this place it’s not a bad place to just park your camper, go into the park all day then come back and sleep and repeat. The other campers in the park were super nice and friendly. But now that I’ve seen west glacier I wouldn’t ever come back to this campground personally. Ohh also the dump station on site is super tight. I wouldn’t have an issue with my Aliner but anything bigger and I wouldn’t even attempt it lol. I wouldn’t say this is a bad campground but I definitely don’t think I’ll be coming back anytime soon.

From the moment we pulled into Glacier Campground, we knew we'd found something special. Nestled amidst towering, fragrant pines, this truly is a gem of a wooded escape, offering an unparalleled blend of natural beauty and peaceful tranquility. The campground itself is simply gorgeous. Each site feels wonderfully secluded, tucked away among the trees, providing a sense of privacy that's often hard to find in popular camping destinations. Waking up to the gentle rustling of leaves and the soft chirping of birds was pure bliss. The air was crisp and clean, carrying the scent of pine and damp earth – a perfect antidote to city life. Whether we were enjoying a morning coffee at our picnic table or unwinding by the campfire under a blanket of stars, the serene atmosphere was utterly captivating. It’s the kind of peaceful setting that truly allows you to disconnect and reconnect with nature. But what truly elevated our experience from great to absolutely unforgettable was the staff. From the moment we checked in, we were met with genuine warmth and an eagerness to help that was truly refreshing. Every interaction, whether it was asking for local recommendations, needing assistance with our hookups, or just a friendly wave as they passed by, was met with a smile and a helpful attitude. They are not just staff; they are ambassadors of good cheer, always going the extra mile to ensure every camper feels welcome and comfortable. Their local knowledge was invaluable, helping us plan our days in Glacier National Park, and their enthusiasm for the area was infectious. Glacier Campground isn't just a place to park your RV or pitch your tent; it's an experience. It’s a peaceful haven surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of nature, made even better by the most friendly and awesome staff you could ever hope to meet. If you're looking for a campground that offers both stunning scenery and a truly welcoming atmosphere, look no further. We left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and already planning our next visit. Glacier Campground has truly set the bar high!

When I tell y'all this campground went above and beyond for me that is a severe understatement. I drove to Glacier Campground from Massachusetts (stopping in Grand Teton and Yellowstone along the way). As soon as I got to the campground my check engine light came on. Got it to a mechanic in Kalispell the next day and the engine failed catastrophically. I was unable to return to my campsite which I'd had booked for another night before planning to drive to another site in Babb the following day. Karlie from the campground staff was an absolute godsend and was able to get all my items back to me in Kalispell so I could pack up the car before getting it towed to the dealership in Missoula. I do not know what I would have done without her. More on the actual campground: absolutely beautiful location within 20 minutes of the Apgar entrance into Glacier. Sites are mostly shaded offering great reprieve from the heat. The check-in area has a big lounge space with books and games, featuring a big black cat named Poncho who is the sweetest. The Sunflower Cafe is in a Pavillion next to the check-in cabin, and has excellent BBQ in the evenings and great breakfast and coffee in the mornings. Must tries are their huckleberry gin and tonic, as well as the huck and hog breakfast sandwich (sausage, huckleberry jam, goat cheese, and fried eggs on a toasty roll). It's very unfortunate that my car died before I was able to get into Glacier, but my experience at this campground made a disastrous event so much less stressful and I am eternally grateful to the kind folks here. Thank you thank you thank you!

So all i can do is review my own experience with this campground.. i was on a cross country carcamping roadtrip that brought me up to glacier where i booked 3 nights at Glacier Campground and i'll go over some things i wish i would've known more about to better make a decision about whether or not to book.. like most people, i found the prices to be pretty good for the proximity to West Glacier entrance.. My campsite was small, pretty small.. and wasn't positioned the best for my needs but made do.. again, location and cost, you make sacrifices.. My site didn't have a grate over the firepit for camp cooking which made it a little difficult and i realized each campsite had a different firepit so if you need something specific this is def worth inquiring about as they dont specify what the site has nor ask you what you may need. As others mentioned, the train.. i actually didn't mind it.. i could hear it sure, but it never woke me up!! What did, however keep me up after long hiking days was the music from someplace very close and WOW.. it was LOUD again, nothing the campsite could do but worth mentioning for readers..this kept us awake, and continued to wake us up when we had to be up quite early for hikes.. (and yes we'd leave them a review too if we knew where it was coming from) Also, eeeeeeeeverything is uphill (and downhill but back uphill to your sites).. worth mentioning because as in shape, fit people who wanted to do 3 days/nights of extensive hiking this was sooo, idk the word.. annoying.. the last thing we wanted to do after an 8hour hike is go back up and down hill for bathrooms and showers and dropping off our trash ect.. If you have a disability or maybe aren't up for the challenge, id be hesitant about booking.. i know exercise is good, as the respondent to another reviewer kind of snarkily wrote.. but we came to hike and wanted somewhere to "relax" afterwards.. we didn't get the latter. The only place for trash and dishwashing was all the way up front and if youre like us and located all the way in a back corner, you REALLY learned how to plan priorities instead of just chilling once back at basecamp.. I know they also said putting more dumpsters would create more noise, but we stayed places that had bearboxes for this reason and wouldve allowed us to consolidate trips down there..I know theres nothing they can do about the vertical, and its an expense to make things easier.. but it def bares mentioning at how challenging it could be and how even in shape people struggled with it after a full day out!! The bathrooms, as other women noted, they DEF could use some updating.. I'm kind of tall, i guess(5'8).. and i could see over the small doors to other stalls.. An outlet wasn't working.. and the showers.. for a campground that size, there was only TWO located in our area.. they were small, cramped, def lacked space to store clothes and shower items and reeked of mold/mildew.. like, to an almost upsetting point.. because of the shower curtain area, twice someone pulled them open and quickly apologized... They seemed to only be cleaned out once.. so if you got an early shower you were golden.. a later shower was taking chances for sure! Again, i get its a campsite, but a relaxing basecamp for tent campers it was not.. However, for the location and the price, it was all ok, doable. albeit annoyances.. would i book again or recommend? Depends on what people wanted.. this wasn't the place to chill.. MAYBE if you had an Rv, but as for tent/carcampers, this place made things a lot of work when all you're really looking for is a break...

We booked several sites and two cabins at Glacier Campground nearly a year in advance through the CampSpot app and paid in full at the time of booking. Our family was traveling to Glacier National Park for our wedding, and we were excited to stay together in one location. Unfortunately, our experience with this campground was disappointing and unnecessarily stressful.

Months after booking, I received an email stating that rates had been updated. When I logged in, I noticed that our reservation suddenly showed a balance due — even though we had already paid in full. After reaching out, the staff pointed to their terms and conditions, which allow them to change prices at any time. While I understand that may be legally covered, it felt unreasonable and misleading to retroactively charge guests who had paid in advance — especially when budgeting for a wedding. Their responses lacked empathy and instead felt argumentative and dismissive.

From my interactions, it’s clear this campground operates with a “customer is not always right” approach. Upon check-in, we noticed signs in the office saying things like “No Whining”, which felt unwelcoming and summed up their overall attitude. It’s as if they don’t care how their guests feel — especially if that feedback is negative — and they have no interest in improving or even acknowledging valid concerns. I also noticed a pattern in their Google review replies — often copy-paste responses that deflect rather than address the actual issue.

Despite their claims of being cheaper than other local campgrounds, their pricing structure is confusing and, in many cases, not actually more affordable. They charge $60 just to lock in a specific campsite, and $5 per extra person — unlike many nearby campgrounds that allow up to 8 people per site without extra charges. When traveling with a group, this adds up quickly.

The cabins were another letdown. While we were informed that they don’t come with bedding, the beds themselves were extremely uncomfortable — several of our guests described them as feeling like “prison beds” (flat, hard, and you could feel the wood below). The cabins were also very hot and felt outdated. You can open windows and use the provided fan, but it wasn’t enough to cool things down. I would’ve honestly preferred sleeping in a tent with an air mattress.

One important tip: if you’re staying in a cabin, don’t forget to bring towels. It’s easy to remember bedding but forget the basics like towels when you’re packing everything yourself — we did, and definitely regretted it.

There are also only two showers available for the whole campground, and no bathrooms in the cabins. Given the size of the facility, this was inconvenient. The staff at check-in and check-out were cold and unwelcoming, which matched the tone of communication I had before we even arrived.

I’ve stayed here twice, and I don’t plan to return. For those considering this campground: If you book a cabin, bring extra padding or blankets for the beds, a fan, and towels. And be prepared for unexpected charges and inflexible service.

While the location is great, I would personally rather pay a little more for a place that values its guests and provides a more comfortable and...
