My husband and I picked up a lunch from the Sunflower Cafe on our way out of the park, and it was definitely the best meal we had while in the area. I had the B&G bowl, and my husband had the cuban sandwich. I'm a Southern girl, and I can attest that the biscuits and gravy were top-notch. The eggs were a bit overdone for me, as they were over-hard, and I prefer sunny side up, or at least no more than over-easy, but I should have specifically requested this. The hashbrowns were definitely mass-produced frozen ones, but that didn't bother me. My husband really enjoyed his sandwich as well. We also appreciated that outdoor dining was available, and that everyone was respectful about giving each other space and/or wearing a mask. Also, even though they were fairly busy, our order came out super fast, which seems to be a rarity these days. The only negative I would share is that the "huckleberry lemonade" I ordered was absolutely something like Hi-C fruit punch and didn't taste like huckleberries or lemonade and there was nothing fresh or homemade about it, so I'd recommend giving that a miss. We would definitely return here if ever in the area in the future. In fact, we stayed at the KOA down the road, but I think we would have enjoyed this campground more because it seemed less busy and more shaded/secluded...
Read moreA literal hole in the wall just off of the highway. If you weren't deliberately looking for it you'd drive by it without second thought, BUT LET ME TELL YOU. This might be the best restaurant in Montana. Not only is it perfectly located to refuel after a long day of rafting, the staff made me feel like I've been dining here since I was a kid. The nicest friendliest most down to earth group of people who are just down right passionate about good food and good vibes. If the ribs were any more tender the bone wouldn't be able to hold the meat. The brisket is basically a smokey stick of butter. (THATS A GOOD THING) The pulled pork is best on a sandwich and truly filling. Three kids of sauce for every kind of BBQ lover. Gold, Red, and South Carolina vinegar. The side are thoughtful and hearty. Plus any place that can make a carrot cake actually taste good deserves its own trophy! The cocktails are delicious and poured perfectly. The beer is cheap, cold, and craft. You'll find yourself wanting to stay all night, if not for the friendly staff and great atmosphere, then the drinking and eating to your heart's desire. After 30 years in the food industry I can confidently say missing this spot would be a true shame on your trip to GNP. EAT HERE NOW. Its worth...
Read moreIf you’re not planning at least one meal here, you’re already messing up your Glacier NP trip! The Sunflower Cafe brings you QUALITY food and service. This little cafe may be in a campground, but don’t let that deter you. We all attended a morning wedding in Glacier, and celebrated by going to Sunflower Cafe. We were greeted nicely and accommodated easily. They have a nice variety of unique breakfast items and beverages to enjoy, alcoholic ones even. My fiancé and I ordered the A.M. Bahn Mi sandwich, a huckleberry vodka lemonade, and a brass monkey ( Miller High Life and OJ). It was perfect and delicious! The staff are insanely nice, every one of them. It was a perfect experience. It was such a great experience we actually came back for dinner after spending the afternoon in park. They do a very nice BBQ menu for dinner. For dinner my fiancé and I ordered the Brisket sandwich, a side of Mac and cheese, and two beers. It just a delicious as breakfast! All their sides are homemade, even the pickles! It’s just a great experience and environment that you shouldn’t miss. Just go, enjoy the food and thank the staff. You’ll...
