My family and I had an incredible time here. The prices are reasonable and, most important and memorable, the guides are all remarkable.
You take a bus with different groups and the guides all crack a ton of jokes on the way, making it a fun ride. We quickly got our boats on the water and, even though the water was a little low in the creek, we all got out and had a good time soon enough.
My husband and I convinced my parents to do this tour with us on our trip to Glacier. We were nervous for them but it all worked out super well!!
My family opted for the regular white water rafting. They also have a float option and a sportier option. For us, it was a just-right challenge.
Our guide was so knowledgeable and really did a lot of research to make our trip informative and fun at the same time. His name is Collin.
I like that they ask if anyone has any injuries that they should know about and they offered, if you do, to feel free to ask them which side might be better for you depending on which side you have injuries on.
Unfortunately, my dad did fall out of the raft. I totally panicked but was incredibly reassured by how the guide carried himself. I mean, really, I was really impressed how he used technique to get my 300 lb plus father out of moving water. I have been a Red Cross certified lifeguard for seven years and I was so impressed with the technique of this guy pulling my dad onto the boat. I was thinking I would have to to get in the water and pull my dad to shore since we all had flotation devices on. Like I said, I was extremely panicked because it was my dad and he was minimally responsive at first and I feared he was hurt or hit his head on a rock. He didn't. He was just shocked and embarrassed, understandably. Collin handled the situation so well, I could have cried, I was so touched. My dad quickly jumped back in to the fun and we were chatting with the group we shared the boat with, chanting heave-ho, and having a good time listening to Colin's informative and fun tour.
My mom went, too, and she has arthritis and some back injuries. She was fully in the game until my dad flew out. Collin told her to take it easy and just to jump in when she could. That was really nice. She held on with a death grip most of the way and jumped in to paddle occasionally. It was so nice that the guide sensed her hesitation and let her take it easy.
My husband and I had a blast. My mom and dad did, too. It was a great experience.
If you're into photos, try to get a seat in the front because you'll be in most of the photos. They have someone waiting in the woods to take your photo. That's pretty cool.
Lunch was delish. They make the best zucchini. The meat was juicy. They have veggie options, too,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was a less than satisfactory experience. It started out with an incredibly rude lady that answered the phone multiple times immediately hanging up on us. She finally answered and told us to stop calling. My husband pleaded with her to not hang up on us again, we were calling for the address. She said the reason she kept hanging up was because she gets hundreds of (?) calls every day and thought we were more of them. She called us when we were in the parking lot about us checking in. I told her I had just spoken to her. We were just getting there because she had rudely hung up on us multiple times. She said she was sorry and I told her she should be! When I arrived to check in she immediately confronted me. She had the nerve to say she could not hear anything when we were calling in and that was why she kept hanging up on us. That was completely not the case. The first call we were immediately hung up on. The second call she hung up on us after 16 seconds. The third call she hung up after 9 seconds, the fourth call she hung up after 5 seconds. The fifth was a minute long of us hearing her talking to a customer in person and then hanging up on us. The sixth call is when we pleaded with her to stop hanging up on us! Her confronting me in front of other staff members and customers as soon as I walked in was absolutely unacceptable and very unprofessional! It was embarrassing and unnecessary. Our rafting guide asked us all where we were from. There were 3 groups. 1.( Us) Tennessee, 2. Utah and 3. New York. She told our group that she lived in Tennessee for a short while last year and learned Tennesseans hate New Yorkers. That was so inappropriate and awkward for us. We know many lovely people from New York and think very highly of them. I recommend they have a polite receptionist and train the rafting guides to have less immature chatter. What should have been an amazing day turned out to be very disappointing. This was my 4th rafting experience and my husbandās third. This was the only one that we didnāt fully enjoy. The guide told the whole bus this was the last family owned rafting company in the area. They would appreciate all of the reviews they can get. Here it is, upon...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe booked the afternoon white water rafting and dinner trip. The rafting part of the trip was great. Our guide Batman was funny and knowledgeable. I was nervous as I had never been rafting before but I always felt safe and prepared.
If we had only done rafting this review would definitely be 5 stars but the dinner portion did not go well. We pre-ordered our dinner choices, 2 steaks, a burger, and a chicken breast. The steaks and burger were fine and cooked well. Unfortunately they have no way to make sure you get the food you actually ordered, so if the person before you doesn't remember and takes the wrong thing and you happen to be at the end of the line, you're stuck with whatever is left.
We ordered chicken for my very picky daughter who ended up last in line well and naturally her chicken which we had pre-ordered was gone. The guide who seemed to be in charge said they have no way to prevent this.
A very easy fix would be to bring extras. If they don't want to risk wasting food a simple print out of names who ordered chicken, steak or burgers. Then check names as you serve.
Now I understand that mistakes happen, but what was most upsetting was the lack or remorse or empathy. The guide never once appalogized to my daughter. A simple I'm sorry would have really gone a long way!
So do go rafting but...
