Red Roof PLUS+ West Palm Beach — Hotel in West Palm Beach

I always call the main location and ask about parking. I need "truck parking". I'm 70 ft long but not a tractor trailer. Here is what she said. As close to verbatim as possible. We have truck parking but if many come in then I don't have truck parking. It all depends on when you get here. Because if trucks come in before you get here then we won't have truck parking. But if you get here and we dont have truck parking then you can park on the street. What the heck, I'm thinking. So I said.... Okay, so I'll wait til I get there and see what is available. Then she tells me... I can't check in til 4om. Early check in, if there are rooms available would be an additional $29,. What's that all about? I've never had any red roof inn charge a few like that. So I asked how much are your rooms. She told me $120. I said hell no. On line says $87. So I hung up with her and called member services. Got the room for $113 out the door. I arrive by 4pm. System is down. Can't check in. So I spoke to the manager, I'm assuming and ask where am I supposed to park. He said. There is a sign that says no semis. I said I wasn't a semi but I'm as long. He said he didn't allow large vehicle parking. They destroy he sprinkler system. I said I called. The girl told me yes. I booked my reservation. He said he would have to talk to the reservation call center. I told him I spoke to this location. He said he'd speak to his people. He told me to park where ever I could but to not block customers. I parked my rig. Not running over his sprinklers. By then. The system was up. Another guy checked me in. The customer in front of me was told he would be charged $3 per night for the safe in the room. What? The customer said that was ridiculous. The employee said "it's better then other hotels. They charge a deposit of $250. The employee continued to say " he was trying to explain to the hotel they needed to match the other hotels". What? It's my turn to get checked in. I asked the employee " where is the laundry machines" he said " this isn't a 5 star hotel. If it was. Id be using the machines myself". What? So I get into my room. Stinks. That's why I carry a scented candle with me. I light it. I walk through the room. Pictures are as they are. I didn't video the toilet flush. I decided to save you from that one. Let's just say. When my morning comes for my morning ..... You know what. I hope the toilet flushed well enough. I will never stay here again. Management needs to get better help. I have never been to a red roof in that didn't have a washer and dryer. I stay frequently at this chain because I have a pup that travels with me. I know the area isn't the greatest. But the customer service here is an arrogant, rude snob that has no respect for the establishment he works at. He isn't a 5 star employee. He is f a 5 star person. Btw, like the way I had to keep the drain plug up so the water in the nasin would drain. My wash cloth has a hole. Lol. The shower floor is so slippery I washed with my knees tucked under me. I was scared to death I would slip once I washed my body with soap. The tv channel choices? There are none. Tv got turned off. No channels with entertainment. This is the cheapest red roof in I have ever stayed at. And my last. If you just want to come in and sleep. This is the place. Because you ain't getting anything else. I also see this place doesn't offer breakfast. There is a label on the wall in the office that says "coffee bar". It was empty at check in. There is a coffee and creamer at the breakfast bar. This place is absolutely DISGUSTING. For starters, the whole place has an eerie vibe when you’re walking through darkened hallways. When my partner and I checked in, everything had seemed fine. He got our keys and everything, they allowed for my service dog to be there and that was the only good thing I can say about their customer service. The stairways are gross and have a distinct smell of urine when you’re using them. I thought I was going to get sick just using the stairwells.

When we’d gotten to the actual room we were just looking for somewhere to sleep for the night, but there was dirty sheet on the bed; it wasn’t just a casual stain or anything, there was someone ELSE’S BLOOD on the sheets. The hotel did nothing about replacing the sheets either. When this was brought to their attention, they were extremely nonchalant about the whole ordeal. The room smelled horrible, the bathroom was disgusting. Everything about the place screamed at us “NEVER GO BACK, DO NOT RECOMMEND, SAVE ANYONE FROM THIS EXPERIENCE.” I have since tried to bring up concerns with management, corporate and even the booking service that was used and they didn’t care as long as they were able to sell the room that night. This place doesn’t care about anyone, they only care about money.

The corporate office only apologized and told me there was nothing they could do for me but they valued my feedback and the following is their response verbatim, “Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the RED ROOF PLUS+ WEST PALM BEACH. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. Occasionally, we are unable to resolve a situation as a customer has requested. In this case, we have reviewed the situation and are unable to offer any additional resolution. The matter is considered closed with our office and we are unable to further assist. Please address any additional concerns with management/ownership at the hotel directly.

We realize that problems will arise from time to time and are continually striving to improve the quality of our services to fully meet the expectations of all our guests.

Please know that we value your patronage and appreciate you making us aware of the situation once again.“

This place does nothing to satisfy their guests, they do not care about you nor your experience, they literally only care about the money. That’s why everyone gets the same basic response, all they do is copy and paste what was previously said to someone else. I promise that this place is terrible and someone who’s desperate to seek shelter, I would strongly urge them to seek it elsewhere. This place is a scam and I hope no one ever books with them again since they are in the business of money, not customer service.

Please save yourself a horrible experience. Pay the extra money to book a better hotel than this!!! Do NOT book with them, no matter how affordable it is. I am telling you you can find far better places than this creepy hell scape.

Update: 4/21/2023 The person who had responded to my review did nothing to assist in the matter. No one ever reached out, the manager only screamed at me letting me know it was my fault for being homeless at the time, with a sick puppy and that he couldn’t help me because I wasn’t able to cancel. He stated that I should’ve cancelled and I shouldn’t have been homeless nor should I have taken my at the time sick puppy to the emergency vet. We have pretty much always stayed in Red Roof Inns for the last 10 years or so, up and down the east coast. I can absolutely say that this is the worst one we have ever stayed in. First, they gave us a room on the 3rd floor. The hallways stunk and the room was worse. The carpet was dirty and the whole place was generally run down.

We asked for a different room and it was not any better. At least it opened outside on the ground floor but that is the only positive thing that I can say about it.

This room stunk also. It had a chemical /old smoke /old wet dog smell. The TV was old, there was no lamps on the bed stand, the electrical socket on the bed stand didn't work, the floor looked dirty there was a bloody tissue behind the bed stand, the peninsula table was sagging, the ceiling was dirty with what looked like black mold, and the refrigerator didn't get cold. The bed was uncomfortable and the entire room was just awful.

It was late at night and we had been driving all day, otherwise we would left. This is a Red Roof inn PLUS hotel in West Palm Beach Florida! We had stayed in the Red Roof inn plus in Savannah, Georgia, the night before and that place was great. It also was $40 a night cheaper than this dive. This is the worst Red Roof Inn we have ever stayed at. As a 20 + year sober recovering drug addict, I can honestly say that I have seen nicer crack houses.
