UPDATE: I was scared to touch anything in the room, and went to a different hotel. Pics are screenshots from a video I took.
I'm not prone to writing reviews, but this is a nightmare. I became very sick today and wanted to go to urgent care. I tried to cancel my reservation. The hotel was called directly to tell them the situation. They showed no mercy. They were going to keep my money, even if I spent all night in Urgent Care. So I decided to risk it and just come to the hotel and try to get some sleep. It's 98° outside. It is considerably HOTTER IN THE ROOM than it is outside, because the management is too cheap to turn on the air-conditioning in a room they know someone is staying in because they refuse to give a cancellation. So I'm in my car with the air conditioning, and this is where I might have to sleep tonight. The room itself has cobwebs on the windows, with dead bugs stuck in them, and it smells like your cigarette smoking grandma's house after she died there and no one found her body for a week. The hangers in the room are the free ones you get when you buy something at Target. * If Management won't even buy some hangers from the dollar store, imagine what other corners they are cutting! gag SCARY! The toilet paper roll was nearly empty, and the room had clearly not been vacuumed for a while. reading through the other reviews, I don't believe these are real. I really think some are fake reviews! Too many use the same phrasing, and they couldn't be less accurate as to what the hotel and the owners/management were like. To the management, maybe exhibit a little humanity, when dealing with humans, and consider their comfort over the $.30 you'd have to pay to turn on the air...
Read moreI wish I could rate this place as negative stars, because this place was awful. The only towel we had in the bathroom was dirty (dingy spots throughout, and a brown smudge on one side). The fridge wasn't working at all, so when we opened to check it, it smelled up the entire room. There was mold near the floor in the bathroom, and a rust stain under the sink on the floor in the bathroom. No coffee maker at all, and there was no way I was trusting that microwave. The TV was a really old 26 inch or so, square blocky TV. The woman at the counter didn't speak very good English, so any questions I had were completely answered incorrectly. While checking in, she made it seem like the wifi was just set up and there was no password to get in, that wasn't the case. When we called the front desk to get the code for the wifi, they seemed really confused that we were asking and then asked us to come to the desk to get the code? I didn't trust the neighborhood, so I wasn't going out into that parking lot by myself to get to the desk. I didn't reserve a smoking room (my boyfriend and I are both non-smokers), but the woman at the counter changed my key over last minute from a non-smoking room to a smoking room. We just left it because I didn't want to deal with the mess since she couldn't understand me anyway, but it was frustrating. I really don't see how anyone could rate this motel as more than one star....
Read moreWe needed a hotel as we were passing through Sacramento one evening; saw Echo Lodge, it looked fine and reminded me of a hotel you, the kids, and dog all packed in a station wagon would stop at.||||The hotel floors were clean, the rough bath towels white and the carpets clean.||||In the light of day I couldn't believe the neighborhood. The hotel is adjacent to a park and I kid not that two people were defecating in the park as I was packing the car in the morning; a hotel guest in the back of the building let their dog roam solo to the front of the hotel, where at just near the lobby entrance, the dog pooped and walked back to it's owner darkened room. The dog poop lay at the lobby entrance when we left. ||||I have a couple more examples but will leave it at this: there was, what appeared to be, a lot of homeless hanging around the back of the building, at the gas station, which is the view from the bathroom window. Keep in mind....Sacramento is California's State Capitol. My eyes saw sad situations all the way around. ||||Bless the owners....I'm sure they're trying to do their best but it seems a loosing battle in the neighborhood.||||My take: I would not suggest stopping at a hotel in...
