American Mattress — Hotel in Wheeling Township

Firstly, my experience with the “American Mattress” in Arlington Heights was utterly fantastic…Because of Jack. An easy 5 out of 5 stars.

Secondly, let me explain - My wife and I have been hunting down a mattress that didn’t cause either of us discomfort. That alone was a task. However, dealing with the multitude of salesmen was an absolute nightmare. Many had no knowledge of the product in which they were trying to sell. While others would flat out lie and try to swindle. Not to mention those that physically squeezed into your back pocket and never left. The whole process was worse than attempting to purchase a car at a dealership. Until Jack…Jack is exceedingly knowledgeable, absolutely honest and trustworthy, and on top of it all he gave “space” for my wife and I to communicate privately. Jack was a great listener and did everything he could to assist us. As I write this review, laying on my new mattress, I’m currently having the best and most comfortable sleep in approximately 4years.

Took a chance during this COVID pandemic and went mattress shopping. We had a great experience and highly recommend shopping here. Mike Arnieri was very professional and extremely helpful as we navigated the store. COVID precautions were in place throughout the store, making our shopping experience safe and comfortable. Mike was thorough with determining our needs and made great recommendations for mattresses for us to try without making the process too overwhelming or confusing. American Mattress is family owned and they went over and beyond to make our shopping experience a positive one. Worst business practice I may have ever experienced. Purchased a mattress 7/16, told it would be delivered no later than 7/31. Which I thought was a real long time to wait, but reluctantly agreed and finished the purchase. Called 7/30 to get an exact time on 7/31 to be home and the person answering the phone mockingly relayed it isn't coming 7/31 and we'd be lucky to get it next week. Called corporate and they said the best they could do is give a range starting in about a week. They took a lot of money and still couldn't guarantee any delivery date and never took it upon themselves to contact me. I had to do all this myself.
