We stayed at the Wichita Falls RV Park for the first time in June 2020 and the restrooms/showers were closed - understandably due to the COVID-19 issue. I assumed they were taking necessary precautions. Other than this slight inconvenience it was a satisfactory visit. Based on an average/satisfactory experience we decided to stay again as we visited the area in Sept/Oct 2020 timeframe. We found the park to be around half capacity - perhaps a seasonal thing. To our dismay, despite businesses opening up across the nation and in Wichita Falls, the restrooms/showers remained closed. Again, a slight inconvenience as we are content to use our RV's restroom/shower capability. We were assigned space 53 - which is nice enough - with several spaces to the right, left, in front, and behind us empty. The second day we were at the park, we temporarily parked our truck in the open space directly adjacent to our RV (site 52). Soon afterward, we received a call that we needed to relocate our truck or pay for site 52 to park our truck. We apologized and immediately relocated the truck in front of our RV in space 53. It later occurred to me however, that since they threatened/offered us to pay for site 52 they had insight into site 52's availability. Based on that information I assumed they have insight into the availability of all RV spaces in the park. Shortly afterward, when I took my dog for a walk I noticed that there was a new RV guest on site 54 - directly adjacent to us on the other side. This would not be an issue at all, since we usually enjoy meeting new folks, except for the fact that all 3 sites to our right remained open as well as the 4 sites to the left of our new RV guest remained open. So it appears with a park that is at approximately half capacity, the scheduling capability of the front office led to putting RV'ers on top of each other instead of the alternative of maximizing their spacing based on open sites available. I decided to call the front office and learn more about how sites were selected/scheduled such that optimizing space between RV'ers couldn't be managed more effectively. The answer I received was much less than desirable. The online scheduling system was blamed and there was nothing they could do about it. Since I have some understanding of how scheduling systems work and the flexibility we have observed at other RV parks we have stayed (there have been many), I was not convinced. The attendant was sorry I felt the way I did - but of course was not sorry for how the system failed to make each RV'ers experience the best possible and never offered to look into it and see if there was something they could do to make it right. Of course, I didn't expect or want to inconvenience our new RV neighbor as that would not be fair to them to have to hook up and relocate. Nor is it fair that I would have to hook up and relocate - so at this point I chose to be content with the circumstances. My goal was to offer some constructive feedback so that future RV'ers' experience, including mine, could be made better and with more thought from the front office. Whether it is true or not, the inconsistent 'attentiveness' displayed by the front office definitely communicated an attitude or value system that the customer was of little concern to them. While parking in an open spot was of great concern to them and got their immediate attention, our overall experience was not of concern or necessary of their attentiveness. Great customer service seems to be a dying characteristic of much of the service industry these days and the Wichita Falls RV Park seems to be no exception to that observation. Additionally, patronizing your customers when they share their concerns is the absolutely wrong thing to do when trying to maintain a viable business during these...
Read moreOur workers from Romania got "kicked out" this June. The office lady wouldn't tell us why, they just left a note on the guy's camper saying they had to be out by 6:00 p.m. or they were calling the police. The police ?!? Anyway, I went there to find out why and the maintenance man said they didn't like us parking our semi's out front without asking. We have parked there off and on over the years when we stay there without problem; just last year without a problem actually. We stopped parking there this time when they asked us not to. Then he said that six different people who were also staying at the rv park, the daily rate people, not the working class, had ALLEGEDLY come to him and told him that our guys had been peeking in their windows as they walked over to the river area. I asked if they had given a description of the guys who did the peeking. He said a scruffy guy and a tall skinny younger guy. Well, one fit the description of our guys, but I couldn't figure out who the scruffy guy was. When I told my husband he told me that he and a worker had carried a picnic table thru the campground because the maintenance man had chewed them out for using one. Only the daily rate people get picnic tables. That was the only time the guys had walked towards the water (river) as the maintenance man claimed they had done while peeking in windows. I tried to get more specifics about what the people had said about our guys peeking in campers, but he couldn't give me more. I wanted to know if they just glanced in windows as they walked by, or had put their faces up to their windows. (This was before I realized he was lying to me) Later my husband told there weren't even six other campers near where the maintenance guy said they had to have walked by to get to water, there was one other camper in that area. (I wasn't there when this all allegedly happened) (On most campers there are not any windows low enough to the ground that could even be "peeked" into.) (Why all the lies?) We have had these guys for 3 years and have never had any complaints at any other place we have stayed. Usually people love them.
Our guys put their tent up that they sit under, and they were told to take it down. The staff was not friendly about this either. My husband was told he couldn't use the bathroom there because he wasn't staying there, even though he had paid them for the site. He wouldn't have asked except that they had been travelling for hours.
When he was trying to find out why we were being asked to leave the lady in the office kept saying over and over that she was crazy to my husband. Read the other reviews, they don't like people who stay more than a day or two. Read the one about the crazy lady yelling at little kids and then lying about it to their mom. Then screaming at her when she said she was going to go get her kids so she could hear both sides.
The first year we stayed they were really nice to us until they found out we were harvesters and then they told us we couldn't use the rec room, that they had previously told us we could. The pool was closed then too, full, but they won't let you use it.
The maintenance man also claimed that we had six guys there some of the time, which wasn't true either. I called the owners to ask them if they knew that their staff accuses people of committing crimes and makes them leave the campground, and threatens to call the police, but they never...
Read moreI arrived 3 days ago after only calling 20 mins beforehand and was told there were long-term lots availble. I showed with a 2006 Coachman that I had just bought the night before. I am an real estate investor and just moved out of a property and needed temporary housing until I found my next place. I was in the process of being checked-in when an older lady arrived complaining about my unit stating it was "ragged out" and that the owners wouldn't allow for it to stay. She cited missing panels, spray painted windows, and the "ragged out" awning. Fine. I get it. Standards. So I left for 3 day (I'm local so I could do that.) Made the repairs, fresh paint, removed the awning (didnt need it anyways) and arrived again today. The same lady who complained days earlier, wouldn't even come out of the office. Told me they had a long waiting list (more than half the park was empty) and that I had to make a reservation, oh and I could only pay with card (I had cash the first day and today but I digress.) Without fuss, I left. A friend and fellow investor was with me this time and had a staff member call shortly after I left to which he was told that there was plenty of availability for long-term parking and they would be happy to take him in. I'm not sure why I was rejected for using their services this day, but I can only guess she had some sort of grievance with me she didnt share. I was polite but I was wearing my work cloths, sport shorts and tee-shirt, you know, like I work for a living. Id love for the owners to explain to me the refusal of service. BTW, while exiting the park, there were units that look in far more disrepair than my unit. I took her recommendation and check into the KOA with much friendlier staff and cheaper deposit. I'd recommend anywhere else but here. Guess they dont need my capital gains from my investments in...
