If I could give 0 I would. I booked and fully paid for a MORE EXPENSIVE non-refundable 2 king room a MONTH in advance. I touched base several days in advance to say we needed late check in because we were working a festival in town and our shift ended late. I checked in online so arrival would be “easy” Upon arrival we got the keys to a 2 queen room with supplies for 3 persons despite me booking a room for 4 people. The room next door had a huge dog barking non-stop as well. The clerk at the desk said he couldn’t help us and that our original room was “closed” for maintenance but he couldn’t change that because we used booking.com and to contact booking.com who had “downgraded” us for some unknown reason. His story made 0 sense and he was in the middle of a smoke break and had no intention of helping or even trying. He also said there was nothing to do about the dog that barked all night long. The beds were too small and not comfortable at all. I booked a room with 2 kings for a reason. The pullout couch was disgusting and saggy, with no bedding, just a bare mattress. An hour after checking in, I asked for bedding for the couch and was told to come back in an hour at 1:30 am because they “didn’t have any”. The room wasn’t what I booked of paid for, and Super 8 did 0 to help and told us to go to booking.com to fix it. Booking.com said to go to the front desk to fix it. After being passed back and forth with no result, I contacted both Super 8 AND booking.com a little less than 24 hours ago with no response from either. We paid over $500 (after tax) for 2 nights and it was absolutely crap service, no help, no bedding for the pullout, no refund for the room we PAID FOR but didn’t get, hours of someone’s neglected barking dog…... not enough towels, no tissues in the boxes, one half roll of toilet paper (thank god I had some of my own) and now no response to any of my emails and requests for what we paid for. We checked out early and were told we couldn’t check out because we used booking.com. If you can’t handle online reservations don’t take them. Especially when your price point is ridiculous and you don’t honor what your patrons pay for. This “hotel” is worthless and should be shut down....
Read moreAfter driving 9 straight hours to Wickenburg, I arrived at Super 8 mid afternoon exhausted and ready for a shower. The young lady at the front desk told me, "Go do something for an hour because your room isn't ready." I asked what the problem was, and was met with cold stares from all three employees behind the counter. Ultimately it was revealed that there was only 1 maid available and she was having difficulty keeping up.
Then a short balding milquetoast man, perhaps the manager, cautioned me that I was being rude because he saw me roll my eyes. An expression on a customer's face certainly doesn't warrant a tongue lashing from a hotel employee. He seemed to have nothing to do except criticize customers, when he should have been pitching in to help short-staffed employees.
My reservation was subsequently canceled, thank goodness. If the dingy and tacky lobby was any indication of the condition of the rooms, it wasn't promising. Loud construction with hammering and impact wrenches near the front desk was a bad omen.
The hotel isn't walking distance to town and staff is not commodious, so good riddance to Super 8. Save yourself the misery and...
Read moreMy mother and I stayed in room 118 (ADA accessible) and the room was HUGE! I've been in multi-room suites that were smaller! The sheets were very nice (Mom said silk, but I'm not sure) and the room was otherwise clean and quiet. You get 20% off with your room key at the Denny's across the street. There is a quarter-operated washer and dryer available for $1 apiece. My only concern is that the shower tub was very slippery... It could use a non-slip mat. Unfortunately, it's not a roll-in shower and there was no shower seat available in the room, but at least there were some grab bars. If someone has serious mobility challenges, the bathroom is a let-down. Breakfast was kind of paltry and consisted of waffles, halo oranges, yogurt and cheap pastries. Expect a fruit, carbs, and dairy. Still, I will absolutely come back to Super 8 if I pass through...
