I had a really great experience staying here. I was staying for work and had a number of situations that tested the staff and facility and they exceeded expectations and were wonderful! Pros - I would say location, it is convenient walkable to the center of town. Off the interstate, near shopping/food ect. Room size: IT just seemed large, lots of space STAFF: They were incredible Kate was there Monday night when I checked in and all day Tuesday when I was setting up their hotel conference room for a meeting. She was able to provide me everything I needed and never seemed bothered by any number of requests or questions. Food: Not normally one to mention this as a positive but their breakfast was really really good. I have honestly paid for worse meals! They had real eggs, peppers, cheese, steak bits and tortillas to go with that breakfast scramble to make burritos, simply great food! The fruit was fresh and plentiful. Great breakfast selection. It just seemed like they cared. Neat/Clean: Everything just seemed right, like their staff cared about their jobs and tasks they had to complete, the cord for the iron was wrapped up neat and tidy very orderly, these are small things but they make a big difference.
Cons: bit dated interior of the rooms but standard for the industry, I had everything I needed..nothing to complain about too much Pillows: I honestly didn't care for them, but I also didn't ask for newer ones so my loss! HVAC: Seemed to be warmer than I prefer in my room and AC on full blast was not bringing the temp down
Overall a great stay and very pleasant trip led by wonderful staff engagement. I posted some honest cons but those still weren't enough to draw the review down to 4 stars. The more I think about my trip the happier I am. Kudos to the management team there and keep up...
Read moreRecently stayed at this hotel for 1 night while traveling in mid Aug. The temps were in the 90's. That evening, I was walking my dog in the parking lot of the hotel and heard a dog barking inside a closed vehicle with simply a side cabby window slanted open. It was about 80 degrees.
I went to the front desk and a young woman (mid-20?s) with dark hair (who I think was named Corrine) was in the office behind the front desk texting on her phone. I told her a dog was locked in a car. She said she would keep a watch. I asked how she would do that if she doesn't know which vehicle the dog was in? No answer. I told her I was afraid the dog would die and could she call the guest (since the vehicle was a car with a cab with an equipment hauler behind taking up a row of parking spots on the side of the hotel). She said she would not.
I told her I was going to call the police (she said it wasn't necessary). She was still using her cell phone. She told me she could not knock on every guest's door (it didn't occur to her the police could run the tag and give her the name of the guest) but invited me to (really). Then she raised her arm and ordered me to my room (no kidding).
It's not her job to make sure people don't leave a dog in a car but it is her job to speak the truth (she had no intention of keeping watch since she never asked which vehicle the dog was locked in). It's also her job to get off her phone and pay attention to guests, especially when a problem is being pointed out and to be courteous (raising an arm and ordering a guest to a room is not courteous when being called out for having her face in her phone the whole time). And, finally, as a human being, it is her obligation to help an animal in danger of dying of heat exhaustion and not look...
Read moreWe just got married in the Winchester area and had chosen this hotel for us and all of our guests to stay at for the wedding. From the start of going through the process of blocking rooms, communication with the hotel was not good. I signed a contract for the room block and was told they would follow up with a link my guests could book with. After not hearing from them for 2-3 weeks, I called and was told they would get it all set up and sent over to me ASAP, even took my email, name, and phone number again and I made sure they understood I was the bride. I never received an email from them even after that and later found out they had sent it to my mother who had nothing to do with setting it up. At this point I was very frustrated, but my guests had already started booking their rooms (without the block) just so they would have a place to stay. Two weeks before the weeding my contract said they would close the room block and guests would no longer be able to book under my name, but I learned that a month prior to the wedding they were telling guests the room block was closed. Again, very frustrating and had to call to get that fixed. Finally, I had booked the largest room so that my bridesmaids and I could get ready in it the day of the wedding and made sure the person I spoke with understood that. When checking into the hotel, learned that they had given that room to someone else and it was no longer available. There was no good communication with this hotel and the whole process was very frustrating. The rooms themselves were nice, but I wish I hadn’t chosen this place...
