Newly renovated- it definitely looked great but I just don't get why their bathrooms don't have fans. That's how mold occurs, and few days before checking in to this hotel we were in another holiday inn and their bathroom didn't have vent fan in the bathroom either. It's just unsanitary, nothing can be cleaned that well to avoid this from happening and theirs no window to help it. Also was extremely UNhappy with the women at the desk when we checked in on Sunday April 2nd. First off we waited at the desk for a couple of minutes before she came out, when she did she didn't look like she was in a good mood. She told us the rate to stay the night and I then mentioned that we are IHG reward members, she asked for the number but I don't know it off top of my head but staying at another holiday inn few days before they told me they can look it up by email or phone # so I asked this women if she can do it that way..she proceeded to tell me with a nasty lazy tone that she would have to log into another screen to get it..so I said fine ill look through my emails and get it..so I did. Then she said okay its this much can I get a credit card I said there is one on file, she said well we need it scanned I said we just did this few days ago and they had no issues charging the card on file. She said well we need it and my husband had to run all the way back to the car to get it. All policies should be the same so if you need it you should need it at every location. Thank god the hotel was nice, room was clean and walked to see the pool and it was nice as well. Also the complimentary breakfast was great. (later on that night when we got back from dinner that same front desk women was sitting on a chair in the back corner of the desk area on her phone. not very professional). When we got back to our room our key wasn't working so my husband went back down to ask for help and he said she was sitting in the breakfast area on her phone. Overall was a good hotel and the front desk staff in the morning was much much better. Arriving home I realized we had left jackets in our room and Misty was a great help and took care of getting the...
Read moreThe staff at this hotel are amazing and really helped me feel welcome when I was having quite the anxiety infused nights. I had to unexpectedly find a place to stay, but being an IHG member I usually choose an IHG hotel as they are always a decent bet. I did have a little snafu in the beginning but it was quickly fixed by Barbara, a new great addition to the hotel. The room I stayed in was the Virginia room, and it was very nice! It was spacious, clean, quiet, and had a nice bathroom.
The only things I would really hope they could change are the beds, they seem a little stiff, and not quite as comfortable as other IHG hotel beds. Also the carpet is annoying because I have allergies and you can never get a carpet fully cleaned, although it didn't appear dirty or smell. The towels were a little less fluffy than I'm used to as well, really love the bigger fluffy towels. Also my keurig seemed to have soap in it or something I tried to use it but the coffee tasted awful and my cream curdled in it so I just got coffee downstairs.
The amenities are great! I was super happy they had a nice pool and hot tub, although there was a little scum action in the hot tub, I quickly showered after getting out.
The breakfast bar was a bit lacking, I wish they had some gluten free cereal options, but the yogurt was nice and the always on coffee was good! I do wish they had the gym open, some places are just requiring one person at a time and cleaning it after. I particularly just wanted to lift some weights. But swimming was nice.
I really appreciate them letting me borrow a charger to, as I got stuck without a charger for my phone and the one in the room wasn't a high enough amperage, they should really have a set charger that can work in the newer phones, or at least a wall charging unit that can charge above 1 amp. Everything worked out though and I would definitely recommend this place to stay for anyone...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I live in the area, but needed a couple days to get away from home. Overall the experience was good. The hotel itself was very clean and nice looking. Everything was very easy to find. There were only 2 main issues I had and one was not an issue with this location, but more hotels in general. The issue that could be fixed was that going to the main desk wasn't ever something that went quickly. They would have what I needed, but it would take quite a while because seemingly the front desk person would be off doing something else. The only other issue was that I recently got a ps4 and brought it with me so my girlfriend and I could play, but we were unable to change the input on the tv, which was kind of annoying.
Onto the good though; The continental breakfast was very good, especially the cinnabon, it was always full of food. The woman who was there running it both days was pleasant, but didn't try to start up small talk with everyone. We also went to the pool and hot tub and it was fairly nice. The pool was a little murky, but was nice and the hot tub was one of the best i've been in.
On to the room itself. The beds were amazingly comfortable and made for very nice nights of sleep. The room was very clean when we went in and the lighting was quite nice. The view was nothing special, but that's not why we came so it wasn't an issue. The bathroom was also nice and clean and everything was a nice layout. Overall this hotel was quite a...
