Dinner at La Braza Breakfast Crush… oh where to begin.
The Good (ish):
The server was very polite albeit very forgetful.
The place was relatively clean (although there were many tables not cleaned yet after previous diners even though it was empty when we arrived).
It’s relatively “cheap”.
The Bad:
There was a placard on almost every single table offering specials for what looked like standard Peruvian Chicken offerings (1/4 or 1/2 chicken with Yucca or other typical sides - Inca cola - etc). When we tried to order off the placard we were immediately informed that nothing on it was actually available. It would have taken one minute to gather up these signs from the tables if they knew none of it was available.
Also, don’t come with more than a party of 4. There are no tables for more than 4. We came with 5 and the staff moved a 2-seater to join it with a 4-seater to make a table for 5, however it blocked the left aisle of the restaurant as older patrons arrived after us, so I moved it myself to be configured in a way that others could actually get past our table to the rest of the seats in half the restaurant.
I got a refill on my Diet Coke after the 3rd time I asked.
French Fries: Tasted to us like straight from the freezer bag to the fryer to your plate.
The Ugly:
Chicken and Waffles: I am fairly certain I just ate my first ever frozen waffle served up at a restaurant… at least that is what it tasted like to me. If it had been any crisper it could have been a Ritz cracker. The chicken that accompanied the “waffle” seemed to be 4 large processed frozen chicken nuggets. They fried them up nice, but it tasted like 4 larger Chicken McNuggets to me. In their defense I’ve seen this done before at other places with low quality food.
Avocado Eggs Benedict: Came with a long black hair on the hashbrowns. Very bland to our taste with super thin and crispy-tough English muffin. The Egg was poached I guess.
Biscuits and Gravy: Tasted to us like someone followed the directions on the side of the Argo cornstarch box but didn’t have any salt left in the kitchen and used fat free milk. The sausage or bacon comes on top of the biscuits with the gravy poured over both.
Verdict: We won’t be back.
PS: Having worked in food for years before joining the Army I still tipped the server 20%. Like I said … at least she was polite and it’s not her fault we...
Read moreThe people in this restaurant are good hearted, very kind and genuine. I had an issue with an order (in which I didn't go about the best way and still apologize to them over my attitude), and the manager handled me in probably the best way a manager could handle a disgruntled customer. A simple communication error, but the manager took the issue to heart and went above and beyond to make it right. He is a very personable man who showed the compassion he has behind what he does for his business. Every employee has a smile on their face and makes the atmosphere very enjoyable the moment you are greeted to the moment you leave. Their food is top notch and gives you the taste and feel of food made from the heart like you would enjoy at your own home. I would recommend this place to anyone, and will definitely make time many more times in the future to get food from them for my family and I. A business well worth mentioning. Also to the manager, thank you for your kindness and generosity. It is and will always be greatly appreciated 🙏. So if anyone gets time to go there to eat, do it. I'm sure you'll want to go there again and again 😁. Thanks again. You guys...
Read more2nd time eating at La braza breakfast crush and did not disappoint, first time we had the Peruvian chicken meal and was very good but I think the chicken had been done for a while and was a little dry but flavorful. Today the wife and I had the breakfast and it was truly very good and satisfying because everything was perfectly cooked and came out hot and fresh and my eggs over medium were very perfect and there are plenty of restaurants that can't seem to do eggs over medium correctly. I had the ultimate breakfast with eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, hash browns and french toast and the wife had the strawberry crepes. Everything was superb and we both cleaned our plates and the portions were perfect as were the prices. The young lady that waited on us was very polite and provided just the right amount of attention. This appears to be a family run establishment that is performing well and is gaining in popularity with us locals, and best part for us is that it's close to home so we will definitely be coming back to La braza...
