The lady (I think Michelle) that checked us in on Friday evening was very pleasant and informative.
Unfortunately, we were not happy with the rest of our experience at this hotel. The room itself was outdated and although relatively clean, there were some obvious stains on the carpet, a missing grab bar in the shower, and the worst part was a terrible odor. We noticed the odor as we walked down the hall and it only got worse once we were in our room. It smelled of old, stale smoke but worse. We got in late and should have addressed this with the front desk, but didn't want to start moving rooms late at night. I carry Lysol with me when I travel and used that to freshen the room up, but it was only a temporary fix. I would have liked to sleep with the window open for some fresh air but didn't feel safe being that our room was right next to the walkway on the first floor.
I was also unimpressed with the morning breakfast and want to note that there was a leaky roof the night we stayed which was dripping right into the breakfast area. The hotel used a towel on the floor to absorb the falling water, but there was no caution sign to warn guests to avoid the area.
It's also important to note that Remington, Indiana is officially in the Central Time Zone, however, unofficially Remington observes the Eastern Time Zone. (This is due to Remington's school district being located in White County which is in the Eastern Time Zone). We were informed of this at check-in, but it is rather confusing and worth noting to be sure the room clock is set to Eastern Time since that is the time the hotel uses for check-in/out as well as breakfast hours. Our phones never changed out of Central time, so we had to depend on the hotel clock to be sure we were on the correct local time.
Overall, not a great experience. I don't expect a budget hotel to have the same quality as a 4-star hotel, but they should be clean, odor free, and safe. I chose this hotel because I knew we would literally only be sleeping there and would be in/out in less than 10 hours, but the $96 I paid would have been better applied to the cost of the...

Never, ever will I deal with this chain again. NEVER! I prepaid for a room so my son and 2 friends could have a bed for the night while he traveled through the storms on his motorcycle.
After calling the hotel, they insisted that I reserve online because they could not take a credit card over the phone. I went to Super*'s online reservation, filled out everything, including my payment. I received confirmation for the room. Upon confirmation, I called the hotel back and asked them to make sure a roll-away was added to the room. No major problem, just a $10 up-charge for the roll-away.
About 3 hours later (in the middle of the night) he calls to tell me the room was not paid for because the hotel would not accept the payment from the corporate online reservation site.
When I called the reservation site they gave me a lot of non-answers. It was a foreign call center. When I asked to speak to the on duty manager. After assuring me that customer service was open 24 hours they put me on hold, then transferred me to a division that was closed at night.
When I called back and asked again to speak to the on duty manager they again transferred me to a number that was closed at night.
I have lost complete faith in the hotel chain. I will never use the Super8, or any affiliated...
Read moreWe needed a place to take a break from driving home from spring break and started looking at exits ahead for options. The price here was reasonable (even less if a Wyndham member) so we made a reservation and checked in a short while later. ||Woman checking us in was pleasant, made sure to verify we knew that we just crossed into central time and gave us the heads up that sometimes cell phones may switch back and forth.||Bed was comfortable, room was clean. Could tell that a lot of items had recently been redone, bedding looked fresh, room entryway flooring looked new. There was some peeling drywall and paint in the ceiling of the game room area, and the edge of carpet in our room near the entry was worn to the pad, so wondering if carpet is the next item on the replacement list.||Free breakfast was fairly basic, but sufficient. Good coffee, and standard hotel waffle maker. Eggs a bit dry, but sausage was good.||Mom and son enjoyed game room and a game of ping pong. There was also a pool table, but was getting tired and skipped giving that a try.||Only real negative was the walls were a bit thin. Neighbor had a sneezing fit in the wee hours of the morning that woke us all up as we could clearly hear it...
