This is not a bashing review this is simply an awareness review. The restaurant manager made it right with me and for that reason alone, I will give them three stars.
I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and the medley vegetables as the side. It was just under $12
The portion size of the chicken was the only complaint that I had.
To put the size into perspective, it was roughly a quarter inch thick which was the same thickness as a slice of zucchini in the medley. It covered roughly two-thirds of the bun. If you compared it to a McChicken, I would say it was roughly two-thirds of the size of a McChicken. There was not enough chicken for each bite of the sandwich.
When the waitress served it to me, I said something right away. She agreed with the portion size being too small and she said that she was embarrassed at the menu and how high the prices were compared to the small portions. She went and got the manager. He came over to the table and was super nice and polite and I explained to him the issue I had with the portion size. I compared it to the McChicken and he was smiling and laughing at the comparison because he knew it was completely true.
He proceeded to tell me that he was following orders on how much chicken to put on each sandwich and that he did not agree with the portion sizes.
I told him I could go over to McDonald's and purchase about 8 McChickens for the same price as this one chicken sandwich get the chicken sandwich had less chicken then a single McChicken.
He took my plate in the back and added some more chicken to it and brought it back out. It was still less chicken then most places but it was tolerable and I felt it was definitely an improvement and actually worth paying almost $12 for the meal.
Their entire menu prices are super extremely high and the portion sizes have been reduced, so they are taking advantage of the truck drivers big-time.
Most places either reduce the portion size and keep the prices the same or they keep the portions the same and simply just raise the price a little bit for inflation.
Most people would rather pay a little extra and keep the portions the same. We shouldn't still be hungry after eating a meal.
I heard rumors that they hired a new executive chef at corporate to completely...
Read moreMy wife and I started our experience standing at the entrance, waiting to be seated, for quite a long time before a customer just told us to sit anywhere. Then we waited another fifteen minutes or so before the waitress came by. After that we waited another 15-20 minutes for our food. In that time at least two tables left without ordering because the waitress didn't come around. Then our food came. I ordered biscuits & gravy. Both were cold. Not just "not hot", but downright cold. And I really don't blame the waitress, because she started busy and was trying. I don't know if someone called off, or if she was the only one scheduled, but it wasn't enough. And there were many empty tables, so it wasn't super busy. Additionally, and I realize this isn't an Iron Skillet issue, but a man very loudly cleared his throat every 10 seconds. So annoying. It just added to a bad overall experience. Very...
Read moreTwo stars because we had a great waitress. The food was typical, end of the night, buffet, grossness. Very few things were good. Buffet closed at 10 p.m. (eastern time) and they had all of the fruit stripped from the salad bar at 10:05 and the heat turned off to the food as well. No sign up stating an end time just the price (two buffets and one drink I had water, hubby had tea was just about $30 and definitely NOT worth the money). Waitress went to the manager with a problem and he literally told her his shift waa over so the other managwr had to deal with it as he walked out of the restaurant. Busy place but our waitress paid great attention to all of her customers. And that is the only reason why this gets as many stars as does it. I mean seriously, who puts tongs in spaghetti and fettuccine alfredo??? Do you know how hard it is to get even one noodle...
