I could talk about Seaside for hours. My parents used to take me here in the early 2000’s when my brother and I were both babies. I started my Seaside experience with such happy memories growing up, ones I will never forget. We stopped going for a while because of family complications but I was beyond thankful to finally make it back to Seaside a week ago with my Girlfriend. I’m from Upstate NY so the first thing I notice getting close to Seaside is the smell of the Sea in the air, a smell that reminds me of my childhood vacations here! Once you arrive there is staff waiting to give you your key to the cottage and you walk right across the road to your getaway! All cottages are right on the water with a breathtaking landscape sitting right over the beach! The maintenance crew does an outstanding job keeping the property looking beautiful, from the vibrant colorful flowers, to the bright green grass. Once you get your things settled in, it only takes a few steps to enjoy the beautiful ocean view that you could stare at forever on their community lounge chairs or just sitting on the beach itself. The beach is always very clean which is awesome! Each cottage has a shower so you don’t have to worry about missing out with that. And they are always very clean and content when you arrive! The Location could not be any better from the beach to dozens of fantastic restaurants that we go to like Lobster Boat, Skippers Chowder House (a 10 second walk), Captain Parker’s, Swan River, TugBoat and many more. Most of these places are known for their New England clam chowder and have all won awards, so it’s fun to order it at each restaurant and rate them each year! Another one of my favorite things about Seaside and Cape Cod itself is Sundae School (15 minutes) which is a homemade Ice cream shop that has been around For decades and rightfully so. They make the best ice cream I have ever had and there is always people in line waiting to get some each night no matter what day it is. I recommend Coffee Oreo! On top of all that there are jet skiing rentals, kayaking on Swan River, tons of mini golf, deep sea fishing, shopping and much more. Also can’t forget about Pancake Man which is only a 3 minute drive. They have a great menu and delicious breakfast food! Sorry this was a lot to read but there is a reason Seaside is my favorite place to be. Words don’t do it justice. Whether you bring your family of 4 or 5, just as a couple, or with a couple friends, Seaside will definitely...
Read moreWe used to love Seaside Cottages in South Yarmouth, MA. We've bounced around to different cottages over the past few years. We'd normally stay there in the fall because I need AC in the summer. My husband convinced me to stay there from 7/30/25 to 8/3/25. We booked Cottage #26. From the minute we checked in, I was picking up mice droppings from all over the kitchen, counters, microwave, oven, kitchen window sills. We would go to dinner and find 30 droppings when we got back. We let management know we couldn't use the kitchen, wouldn't eat in there, etc. We did not want to get sick during vacation. We actually slept in our car across the street in the parking lot one night after seeing a mouse come out of the fireplace and crawl on our bed! The office credited us for one night only, so basically we paid $1,500 to stay with mice, sleeping with one eye open, for 3 nights. The management tried to downplay it, like we should expect mice when were in oceanside cottages. I said check our records and you'll see how many cottages we've stayed in before and I had NEVER seen a mouse dropping. If we had, we never would've come back. The management told us the owners wanted to handle it humanely which wasn't going to help us . We ran to the hardware store the next day, taking matters into our own hands, I now need a vacation to recover from my mouse-infested vacation. We will never stay at Seaside Cottages again. Now that we're home people are shocked that were charged AT ALL for any of the nights! WE had to check out suitcases for mice before we checked out. Then I sterilized everything when...
Read moreI recently stayed at seaside cottages in Yarmouth cabin 3. It is by far the worst rental I have ever stayed in. The rental is run down and FILTHY. The beds are the worst I have ever slept in, caving-in in certain spots. The thin acrylic sheets are itchy, horrible pillows, old thin dirty looking blankets. My skin was crawling the entire stay, I couldn’t wait to return home, it’s by far the worst sleep/accommodations I’ve had on vacation. Additionally I checked under the bedsheets ( I was so grossed out on the condition of the room I wanted to see if there were any evidence of bugs) the mattress cover is filthy and had old blood stains on it. One of the pillows had a nauseating sweat-sour smell and I realized that whoever “cleaned” the room didn’t take off the last persons pillow case but instead added a new one on top. The whole rental is covered in dust, sand, grime and run down. The couch looks like it was hauled out of the trash, it’s sunken in and has random white stains. I didn’t feel comfortable sitting on it, nor did I feel comfortable taking my clothes of my suitcase. The blinds have black splatter marks all over them, and the bath towels are no better than rags.
The only positive things I can say is that the beach is nice, the grounds are relaxing, and the check in staff is friendly. But I would NEVER come back here or recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely...
