This is one of the smaller Encore parks that we've visited but it was absolutely wonderful. My wife and I stayed in full hookup site # 920 for 2 weeks and it was level and comfortable. Staff member Wayne and his wife Kathy escorted us to our site after check-in. I explained that we could easily back in ourselves but Wayne stated that park policy requires that he assist with this process. Now that is great customer service! Our only minor complaint was that the sewer connection was at the far back of the site. We had to hook 2 hoses together to reach it. The manager is named Lin and he was very friendly. Another office staff member named Sue helped us find local places of interest. I really cannot say enough about the excellent folks at Suni Sands. Everyone has a positive attitude and they are always willing to help. The park is located right next to a Walmart which is easily accessed through a secured gate. Here is the best part: the staff will pickup your shopping cart at your site and then return it free of charge. Talk about convenience! Free wifi is available at the main building and pool and it was pretty good. My AT&T phone had 3 bars and the hotspot worked great. A large oval walking/running path is located right next to the park so exercise is an option. There is a recycling bin for aluminum cans, cardboard and plastic (no glass.) Reverse osmosis water refills are available at the office for only 25 cents per gallon. Bathrooms and showers are clean and well-maintained. The pool looked fantastic but we didn't try it. You have to buy a $5.00 laundry card and then load money on it to use the washers & dryers. The refill machine was temporarily out of order but one of the full-time residents offered to let me use her card for free. I didn't accept but holy smokes her kind offer was incredibly generous! The Los Algodones Mexico border crossing is about 25 minutes away. We paid $6.00 to park on the U.S. side and then walked across. Yes a Naval Air base is located near the park and the jets are definitely loud, but they don't fly at night and it's only a few minutes of inconvenience each time. We actually enjoyed watching the aircraft fly around. Thank you Lin and team for an...
Read moreReally nice 55+ park with lots of amenities plus nearby shopping it's conveniently just across the street from the International airport & MCAS. There are plenty of long length pull thru sites as well as many back in sites. There are laundry rooms in both East and West side buildings that also contain restrooms and showers. The large clubhouse and office are next to the heated pool area. The entrance is a long driveway that is tucked in between the Nissan lot on Pacific & 32nd Street and Guardian Self Storage allowing the park itself to be away from busy 32nd Street. There's a walk-thru gate to Walmart in the back of the park and it plus the restroom/shower buildings are securely locked with coded entrances. There's also the benefit of being near the Yuma County Fairgrounds where there are many events throughout the year.
I now rent here permanently because it's a quiet and safe place for me and the many who call...
Read moreWe spent a month here and we're quite disappointed. The park is very close to the airport and a millitary base. We had the very loud millitary jets. They flew almost daily and started early in the morning and some night flew as late as midnight. The commercial flights were not a problem.
We also found the full-time campers we're very unfriendly for the most part.. we also we're told that we could not fly our Canadian flag. The pool and hot tub was great. They have shuffle board, horse shoe and many other activities. Very close to shopping and other activities around Yuma. We enjoyed our visit and exploring Arizona. Would definitely come back to Yuma but not Sunni...
