Torch Lite Lodge — Hotel in Yuma

This place was not the best by any means. We had a new renovated room that had new carpet and had a bad carpet smell. She warned us about this when we checked in. The air conditioner was old and very noisy but cooled the room. Switch plate cover in the bathroom was rusted, grout was missing where the tile met the carpet leaving a sharp edge of tile exposed. Water pressure was a trickle while trying to take a shower. The packets of shampoo that was offered had only enough in both for a bald man. Glad I brought my own. The light above the sink was so low you hit your head. Doors to room stuck. Almost had to kick the door open to get in.Wifi sucked kept dropping the signal. Biggest complaint was the OLD SPRING mattress. So hard we couldn't sleep. Should have put some of the renovation money in to new mattresses. This place is low priced and perfectly adequate. My room was clean and daily service was provided over the three days I was there. The room had a microwave and fridge. The bed was comfortable and WiFi and television was very good too. |The pool was clean and safely gated in my opinion. |Checking in was a breeze. The staff was pleasant. There is a small book exchange. ||I could not get the heat to work but didn’t pursue that as it wasn’t that cold. My room was in a dark spot under some steps and one night the light there wasn’t on. As well it was near enough the ice machine to be a mild problem for me. ||As I didn’t have a car, I was happy to be near a bus line that headed downtown near several tourist sites. I am so thankful that I found this place. The price was so reasonable that I had extra cash for my vacation. The couple who run the place were extremely nice and you can tell that with the renovations that they have done and are currently working on that they are trying to make the place more appealing. There are plenty of food options in walking and driving distance, and the swimming pool was very clean and maintained. For the money and not needing the extras, I bought one night. I slept like a baby, it was quiet, and the room had a mini fridge, a microwave, a nice sized flat screen TV, and a very appreciated Air conditioner.
