Arba | Hotel Samarkand — Hotel in Samarkand City

We were not expecting the four seasons in Monte Carlo but at £60+ per night I think there is a minimum of what someone expects and it should include bottled water in the room, more than one supermarket coat hanger in the wardrobe and curtains which are properly fitted. The mattress doubled up as a butchers block. ||We had a room on the ground floor which was almost directly opposite the reception area. This did not add to our experience as we were woken up in the night by tour groups aggregating in the lobby before getting their night bus to Bukhara/Khiva. ||On the positive side the staff were friendly and the room was clean with a good sized ensuite bathroom. ||I would not advise people not to stay here, but to consider the cost of the room. We booked last minute so the prices were probably higher than normal. If you are looking for a basic overnight stay that is only a 20 minute walk to the Registan and can secure a room for £40 a night or less, I would say go for it. But anything more than that feels rich and I would suggest looking at alternatives...

This is one of the best hotel I ever been in this city (Samarkand). I can admit that for sure this hotel deserves 5-stars indeed. It starts from the reception and all of hotel workers and attendances . They're all very sharp , respectful, pleasant and friendly. The restaurant in this hotel is very traditional and delicious. The most importantly I have to admit this hotel has the best hospitality system. I guarantee as a tourist that everyone enjoys staying in this hotel while touring and visiting city of Samarkand. Oh dear. The original has beautiful ceilings and is a cosy joy. My room was on the ground floor of the new annexe. Generous size, modern bathroom and the courtyard is charming. Unfortunately the point is to sleep … I had to use a bed spread to create a curtain over the etched glass door, there was the gurgle of drains all night, the acoustics of the courtyard meant of anyone was out there it reverberated.
