Caucаsia Samarkand — Restaurant in Samarkand City

The newly opened CaucAsia in Samarkand let me down. Other than the beautiful blend of Georgian and Uzbek styles in the oriental interior, there is nothing worth praising.

The servers were not experienced enough to manage basic service. They kept forgetting about bar options and offered a strange apology for the broken ice fridge. It could be just a bad luck, but guys served me a cocktail I didn’t ask for. The khinkali (big dumplings), especially the cheesy ones, lacked flavor and the menu was not extensive. Despite that, the tomato soup was fresh and delicious. As a side note, the prices are not cheap but moderate and it’s worth mentioning that I paid just $11 for a meal consisting of two dishes and a drink. Still, I have no intention of coming...
