Summary: Extremely good value. Very polarizing cleanliness depending on your level of acceptance. It can make you feel like it's acceptable to downright disgusting. BUT the bed is really really good, unexpectedly. Some rooms have broken aircond, TV, etc. Staff was alright. 1.2km from the airport.
For under 250000 dong, you get 2 double beds. You can see a lot of black marks on the sheets, the blanket, the pillow but personally I think it's because the place is old. No hair but there was a dead mini fly on my bed. Condition is still nice. This evaluation is based on 2 thing - I used all of the areas of the bed and my body didn't itch the next morning. The bed is not too soft that it changes shape or too hot to sleep on. The bed is firm but not so much that it's rigid and make your body ache. I really love this type of bed.
The aircond switch kept turning itself off so we had to switch to another room. The next room aircond was good enough. Staff responded quickly but just like most young, unexperienced, panicked staff dealing with angry visitors, they lied about something (getting a technician to fix the aircond in the middle of night??). The whole scenario was not friendly but it still worked out in the end. Plus for the price paid I would say it's already pretty good.
You can walk around the place for food since it's located on a major street or go behind the alley and explore. It's walkable to the airport. One last thing, the shampoo will make your skin super dry so use...
Read moreSuper rundown rooms with nothing working—light switches, electrical outlets, phone, and TV. Broken table and cabinets. The only outlet we can use to charge our phones is by the door, and we have to jump around the cords to get to it. Dirty room. No ventilator in the bathroom, so whenever someone uses it, the whole room is filled with a strong odor.
Same with the hallway—no ventilation—so our room sometimes reeks of cigarette smoke from someone smoking outside.
There’s also new construction next door, and we’re bombarded with extremely loud machinery starting at 7 a.m.
And the worst part: the water shut off while I was using the bathroom—yes, right in the middle of it—at 11 p.m. It’s still not back on.
I didn’t want to leave a bad review, but this is just too...
Read moreGreat location and very affordable rates make Lotus Rock Hotel very good value for money. It’s about a 7 minute drive from the airport or 25 minute walk (if you feel up to it). The hotel is on what I would say is the main west to east road in Da Nang - from the airport in the west, passing numerous restaurants and businesses before crossing the Dragon bridge and onto the east of the city. The hotel is within easy walking distance from most landmarks and cultural attractions; completed with helpful and friendly staff. The room boasted all the necessary facilities; including a small fridge freezer which comes in handy to keep drinks cold in the room. I also used the laundry services; which was about 30,000 dong / kilogram. I would highly recommended staying at...
