Ethnic House Jr. - Hotel & Restaurant with Paddy View — Hotel in Đồng Văn Town

Was expecting this to be something nice but just turned into a bad experience that got worse as we went along.

After a long day on the bike in challenging weather all we wanted to do was relax in a warm room, that's why we booked somewhere with heating, forget it! The heating was ineffectual so the room wasn't warm at all.

After a cold night thought a nice hot shower would be good, forget it! No hot water! Trying to get someone from the hotel to sort it out was impossible, this hotel is unmanned for most of the time. Even contacting Agoda didn't sort it out. Agoda were nothing more than useless, giving the excuse of "it's not their fault" and making stuff up about the times when there is hot water. In end it didn't get sorted, so despite paying for somewhere with hot water and heating that is not what I got.

And speaking of paying... When we came to leave and I had to pay there was no one around again. After waiting no one came, so I gave the payment, along with my key, to the housekeeping staff, jumped on the bike a duly left, thinking I was glad to be out of there. But that wasn't the end of it! By the time I arrived in Ha Giang I had a message "you need to pay for your room"!!!

I wouldn't stay here again under any circumstances and I certainly don't...

Great hotel right in the town center. Amazing bedding, probably the best bed I’ve had during my trip in Vietnam. However, there is mold everywhere on the bathroom walls, on both sides : in the bathroom and on the bedroom wall. There is no air exit in the bathroom and when I tried to open the bedroom window to ventilate the room, someone from the staff went and closed it. Something really needs to be done about it (and not just putting tiles on the mold but rather building an air vent and letting the wall dry), it can be dangerous for the guests’ health ! I would have rated the hotel 5 stars otherwise but this is a sanitary issue, even more so for guests...

The best place to stop in the loop!!! The rooms are the most comfortable and clean that i ever seen. The shower was amazing, hot water is available. After long day of traveling this is the best place to end your day!!!!!! The restaurant of the hotel is the best! The food is fresh,diverse and delicious. Kai, the owner of the place is kind and always worried that we will have everything we need. I really recommend to come sleep and eat...
