Do not eat here. Beer stank of fish, unlisted ingredients on menu, food came smelt sour and off, and the waiter tried to convince us the food was fine and Gaslight us. 5☆ reviews are fake !
When we sat down, we ordered 2 beers, and upon arrival they were cold, amazing, but STANK of fish! As though they had been stored in cold water with fish.
The mistake was staying for the food to arrive.
We ordered 1 mixed spring roll, with 'meet' and one vegetable spring roll, not stating anywhere on either they contain egg.
The menu states butter & egg in relevant dishes, but is failed to be listed correctly in all dishes like the spring rolls, which I had part of before I had to stop as I found the egg. My partner ate the meat ones whilst we waited for the mains and someone to ask about the fillings.
Upon asking the waiter, the spring rolls did contain egg and we asked they be taken off the bill.
The mains came and the stir fried mushrooms, that did not state anywhere they used butter to cook them, came in a yellow, oily 'buttery' sauce, and the mixed meat noodles smelt strongly sour. After smelling the broth bowl which did not smell sour at all, we found it wad the beef that smelt off.
When asking the waiter, he conveniently used our own words of 'vinegary' stating the broth was just water, vinegar and sugar, but as we said, the broth bowl had no smell at all, certainly not vinegary.
He then said the yellow oily liquid at the bottom of the stir fry was 'the orange colour off the carrots'.
We agreed to disagree as we could not risk eating it, we paid for our beer & the spring rolls we did eat and left.
I would have minded that much had the food not been off & the employee not point blank lying to me convincing me butter was carrot...
Read moreCame across this place via the Find Me GF app and it was a nice change from the freeze-dried camping meals I’ve been living off of, during the Ha Giang loop.
The owner speaks great English and is very aware of gluten free needs. He understands cooking in a clean pan, using fresh oil for deep frying, and he has contacted companies to figure out which spices/ingredients are gluten free. He uses an alternative to Knorr that is GF. I am SO impressed with his knowledge and the lengths he has gone to, to keep his gluten free customers safe!
The ONLY downside is that the service can be a bit slow if there are multiple tables seated at the restaurant. It seems like a small operation, but like he is doing very well! It’s also worth the wait 😊 I felt very...
Read moreFood was fantastic with the vegetarian options. I had fried tofu with tomato sauce (1 of the best daily traditional dishes a Vietnamese can ask for), vegetable soup with some mushrooms, beans...and a hot ginger honey tea. Portion is good, reasonable price, atmosphere is lovely, service is incredible. I honestly couldn't ask for more from a restaurant at a tourist place. Bonus 2 happy and well taken care of white dog and cat. Both of them are very friendly and well-behaved, constantly asking for some attention from the...
