We booked and paid for this hotel via expedia and our trip was confirmed. When we arrived, the extremely rude woman at the desk told us our room had been cancelled without telling us or expedia due to a local travel agent not paying them for our room. We were unaware of expedia using another travel agent. The woman was very nasty to us and offered no help or solutions. We asked to use the hotel phone to contact expedia as our mobiles weren't working. It took us ages to convince her to let us use the phone despite telling her we would pay. When we did, we were halfway through the conversation when she hung up the the phone! She also refused to give us the hotel email address for expedia to contact them. At this point, another male member of staff behind the desk stood there and was trying to hide but was obviously laughing at us. At least he looked ashamed when I asked him what was so funny. Two young girls alone arriving at a hotel late at night that has been booked and paid for should not be treated like this. It was disgusting. I eventually asked if there were rooms available which there were and paid for a room there and then. The awful woman could have suggested this earlier instead of treating us this way. Why were expedia not contacted if their reservation wasn't paid for? I would never return to this hotel and advise others not to go either, especially if that horrendous woman is still working there. I would love to know why she thinks her treatment of us...
Read moreThe hotel itself isn’t bad, great location , although it could do with a touch of redecoration as the decor is looking a bit dated and tired. We initially booked a river view room, and were placed on the 8th floor, with a wonderful view of the Mekong Delta river. However, our joy was soon short lived, when on the first night of our three night stay we were forced to listen to the very loud music coming from the Beer Garden directly below us. When the boom boom music (we are a couple in our 50’s) still playing after 10pm (we like to go to bed early), I went down to the Reception to enquire how long they’d be playing, and was this a one-off or going to be nightly occurrence. Was told music was played until midnight (they played well after midnight) and that this was EVERY night. Told them it was totally unacceptable, to be fair on the hotel, (they were so apologetic) they showed me three different rooms all of which we could hear the music - until the fourth room was shown (9th Floor/VIP) and we moved our stuff there. Although, the music was still heard, it was somewhat muffled. To be honest, I would have checked out the next day, if my husband hadn’t insisted in staying/avoiding the hassle of relocating. The Staff were lovely & and as I said it wasn’t the hotel’s fault about the loud music, they had intact filed a noise complaint themselves to the authorities, including other hotels nearby who were also affected. The rooms were clean and...
Read moreType of room: Standard Good: Served many types of VNese meal for the morning buffet and the food tasted amazing and authentic. Bed was comfy and clean. Located near the crowded Ninh Kieu harbour. Bad: Room didn’t worth the price. Room was small and old: old furnitures, stains and dust on the wall, doors and window. Bathtub was large but looked really disgusting. Room did have a view but the view wasn’t that nice (personal opinion). The receptionist, who served us, wasn’t helpful and friendly, didn’t even have that courtesy to say Thank You. With this price, I can find a better place. Addition: before us, there was a couple complaining that the VIP room was small and not cleaned properly. The receptionists just suggested them to wait till morning for the cleaner to come (should have changed the room for them). With that price for the VIP room, I could have gone to Muong Thanh. 3 stars but take away 1 for...
