Khánh Uyên Hotel — Hotel in Da Lat City

Very disappointed with this property. We decided to book here as the pictures show beautiful, clean rooms however we soon found these photos to be misleading. I cannot speak for every room but unfortunately we were so shocked that we felt the need to make others aware of the risk. We arrived to the hotel early morning and despite the lady at the desk not speaking a word of English (which I respect as this is their country), we managed to find out that we were too early to check in and need to wait for our room. This was fine (despite me emailing the day before upon confirmation to state that we would require an early check in). However, we had to wait for 5.5 hours! We had travelled for 17 hours on a sleeper bus so this wait was not ideal. We did not wish to go out as we could not leave our backpacks anywhere and we’re also very tired. After a few hours I noticed that local people were checking in and being taken straight to their rooms, so I asked the lady how much longer would we needed to wait for our room. She sighed and said ‘okay I have a room for you’ and took us straight to a basement room. We were both confused by this as we questioned how long had our room been free and how much longer would we of waited before being told we could check in? We then got to the room and it was awful. The whole room was damp and I mean damp! The bedding was damp, the walls were damp and the air was damp. The walls had mould all over them. We waited a few hours unsure on what to do and then decided we needed to change room as we didn’t want to get ill. There was no other room available so booked us into their sister hotel. We had to pay for a taxi to get there (okay fair) but we then had to pay more for the hotel!! Disgraceful!! Please be wary of booking this property. Would be 0 stars if i could. The room was riddled with mould and a very wet atmosphere. The bed was damp to touch and windows condensed with water. We tried to check out but were greeted by a smirking receptionist when we told them we would like a refund and they refused. They offered us another room but it was clear they would all be the same in this dark, dank and dingy hotel. It was clear the receptionist had seen this before as they didn't seem shocked when we wanted to check out, but laughed when we requested a refund. My wife has severe asthma and this hotel is not suitable for anyone, let alone asthma sufferers. We would not recommend anyone...

Nice location just 10 minutes by walk to the city market. Reception is friendly and helpful.

The big minus is the cleanliness of the room. when we arrived, the bedding and cover sheet were dirty and smelled of sweat and hadn't been changed since previous guests. Only the pillowcases were clean. when we asked for it to be replaced, we were told that it could only be done tomorrow. The next day, the cleaning lady just returned the same bedclothes that we took off the bed. on top of that when I entered the room I saw at least two small lizards or geckos crawling behind the bed. I didn't tell my wife because she would have panicked. so we slept...
