This hotel turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The place, the rooms, and excellent services make it one of the best hotels we have stayed for the value. ||The whole place is squeaky clean, room is perfect with style and comfort. The breakfasts are fabulous with West meets East food varieties. The hotel is half an hour of walking to the Lake Ho Tay, so the air is less stagnant. The roof top bar and swimming pool were clean, with great views of the city and with very clean water. All workers are attentive, especially the Hotel Manager Toni and Bell Boy Peter. They were very helpful in every way, and Peter offered to book our car for the next trip. ||The only one thing that was negative for us was on the last day, Bell Boy Peter was eager to save us some money without being asked and found the cheapest "limousine service" called Binh Minh to take us to Tam Coc. This was the most horrific transport service that we encountered in our whole life. The trip was supposed to be only 2 hour long, but it turned out to be the worst 3 hours of my life. ||First, we were picked up by a "transfer van" to transfer us to the "real vehicle" for a supposed 1/2 hour drive. The driver was rude, shouting like a drill sergeant to hoard us onto the van. Being 5 foot high and 105 lbs in weight, I was forced to sit in the last row (3 row van) with much luggage (not mine) stacked next to me. I was squashed with the distance between my back to the back of the front seat of a mere 1.5 feet of space. I could not move any extremity, could not breathe. The "transit" time was 1 hour, not 30 minutes as promised. The ride was torturous. Then when I escaped to a "bigger van": the main van was not much bigger for the remaining 2 hours of the trip. There wasn't any reclining seat as I would expect for a "limousine" ride, as there were three persons (my own family) smacked behind me in their last row. They could not recline, and neither could I. If I reclined, I would have crushed them to death. I sat with my aching back straight up for 2 more hours. Being a medical doctor, I knew the ordeal would not be good for my circulation, and I would be vulnerable to DVT.||So if you have to arrange transportation with the hotel, please specifically ask NOT to use Binh Minh transport service. Other than that, everything is great at FTE...

Read moreStayed here during my backpacking trip with a couple of other people in 2023. The hotel was beautiful and we were greeted well on arrival.
In a rush to check out in time I left a pouch on the hotel bed which had my travel documents inside. I returned to the hotel a couple of hours later. Only for them to tell me that I never left it there. If I had that the staff would have alerted the manager right away.
It was only until I filed a police report 3 weeks later (this was required to get an emergency passport and leave the country) did they manage to magically find my travel pouch and all the contents. Found the staff extremely unhelpful in this situation, especially since the documents went missing in their property and they did not take the initiative to point me in the right direct immediately (i.e the local authorities) instead they constantly denied and said they could not help me. Very bad customer service.
The final nights stay at this hotel was unfortunately not pleasant. They were hosting a dinner party in the evening, I felt as tho we were not tended to because we were fewer people (we was celebrating a friends birthday at the hotel this evening).
We had a 2 night stay, one of the nights the receptionist unfortunately booking us into the wrong room so we had to move the following day. However, the hotel manager kindly upgraded out room as a good will gesture...
