Nesta-The Grand Hao Nam — Hotel in Hà Nội

Pros:

1. Female receptionists in the lobby and restaurant/room service waitstaff were kind, pleasant, and helpful.
2. Rooms were spacious and fairly clean.
3. Restaurant breakfast ( bun bo hue, bun rieu, and cafe sua) were tasty and well made.
4. Very nice bidet toilets, washer/dryer, purifier, cookware, dinnerware, and utensils Cons:
5. The safe and balcony door were broken, and never fixed even though we reported them. Real security issues!
6. Breakfast, though delicious, were the same 4 options our entire stay (bbh, bun rieu, stir fried ramen, and a bread/egg set). Luckily we liked the food.
7. Lost keys were 200K to replace!
8. I never watched tv, used the remote, nor even noticed it, yet when checking out, we were asked to pay $20USD for a missing remote. Learn from our mistake and note everything at check-in!
9. Very stingy soap allowance! 4 of us in a two bedroom, two bath unit were given one tiny soap round, one small shampoo, and one small conditioner!
10. i shouldn’t forget to mention hotel was right by the open ditch/sewer so the smell from it was nauseating when you have to walk to the main road or just...

I don’t see how this place can be a 5-star hotel. 2 stars would likely be more appropriate.

Our room was in bad conditions, with scratches and dirt on all walls and ceilings. It literally looked there was a leak from the above floor. Same was for the restaurant.

But the cherry on top is when they had the brilliant idea of starting construction / restructuring works on one of the neighboring rooms at 07:00 AM, with an unbearable and continuous noise that prevented us from sleeping. I called the receptionist to ask if they could pause it until later in the day, they did for just half an hour and resumed at 07:30 AM until after our check out time. Unbelievable. Also, our room had a nice view right on a grey, moldy wall.

Friendly staff, good breakfast and convenient location, but the above mentioned experience overshadows anything else.

Definitely not...

I stayed one week in March 2024 for my business trip to Hanoi. A very nice and large apartment . At arrival The registration desk upgraded to a larger 2 bed room at floor 5. Comfy beds and sofa. AC works well and is silent. The kitchen is very usable. The clothes washer is new and works perfectly .... Very quiet atmosphere.... The gym is too basic and small. No swimming pool and sauna. The breakfast is average and always the same.... Fresh tea, eggs, noodle soup and fruits were my morning routine. I really enjoyed staying in Nesta apartment... Very nice room cleaning staff, very professional management desk, a seamless and comfortable stay indeed. The drawback is you need to call a taxi to reach the old quarter and other city spots. But the quality and cost are great....
