I found this hotel just opened near my house for 1 year and recently, I saw that the Deli restaurant on the 4th floor of the hotel had a discount to buy 1 get 1, so I invited my boyfriend to have a meal at the restaurant. Compared to other 5-star hotel, that is good price so i dont have too high expectation on quality of experience. However this was a worst experience ever I have eaten at a high-class restaurant. Firstly, I had made reservation for 1 week before my arrival date, the operator also had confirmed my reservation and told me to arrive on time for the most guaranteed food. Hmm the operator was very enthusiasm and friendly to support me do the booking. But when I went to dine at the restaurant, the receptionist didn't know anything about my reservation and said that my booking had been missed and then I had to wait 40 minutes from arrival time and 30 minutes from booking time just waiting for an appetizer. Having meal at a popular restaurant did not even make me wait for nearly an hour Secondly, when I wanted to change tables because I wanted to sit near the window, I called a waiter and asked to change tables for me. He said that he would call his manager out and I had to wait for 10 minutes and nobody care. why ?? :) He totally had ability to change table for me then told his manager about that. Then I got impatient and automatically switched tables, I complained why I waited for 40 minutes and didn't even have a bowl and the manager (I think) said that because I switched tables, the staff of theycan't bring food out ?? But like that, when they bring the stuff out, they have to ask the table number again :) I am really disappointed with the unprofessional service at the restaurant 1 bonus point for the restaurant was the pretty good food and they returned the...
Read moreRead moreI do recommend this hotel, good value for money, nice personnel, ample breakfast buffet, big rooms (we hand a deluxe room) and a gym. In plus: Very helpful and courteous staff. Ample breakfast buffet, good food. spacious rooms (we had a deluxe room - it had app. 35 m2) Clean. Gym: quite big and pretty well equipped for a hotel gym. Good value for the money. 30 minutes walk from the main attractions (app. 2 km), but hence the lower price than the of hotels right in the city center. I was so happy we didn’t book a hotel in the old town – it is so loud in the old town and it’s jammed, difficult to get out and even to walk because all sidewalks are full of parked motorbikes, tables, chairs and other sh* that is just standing on the sidewalks. In minus: please buy a yoga mat for the gym the temperature at the swimming pool -- why is it so COLD in the area of the swimming pool?! OMG you could not even enter the space without freezing and getting blown away by a huge cold draft.. In the gym room adjacent to the swimming pool the temperature was normal. I'd understand if it was colder in the gym than at the area of the swimming pool - but the other way round? very peculiar. Luckily we used the gym and not the swimming pool - I would not there to enter the swimming pool area without wearing a wet suit 😉 At the end, I want to stress that I really do not understand, where all recent negative reviews come from - I understand that there was a group of people and a lot of them expressed this way their...
There is no concierge at all, you can try and ask the reception but they won't help much. We ask for a recommendation for a good restaurant in the hotel area, the reception representative didn't have a single name to give us. Most of the staff does not speek English and communication with them is very difficult, quite impossible.
The rooms have an unpleasant smell and when we ask if there is anything to be done, the reply was that that is a smell of new furniture, and they don't have any perfume to hide the smell (this is not a smell of new furniture).
The shower is nice looking but not enough water pressure and the drain is bad so you end up showering in a big puddle.
The breakfast is ok, not more than ok. And more than ok is expected from a 5 star hotel. They don't change the served food from day to day and you end up eating the same exact food every day. The food runs out very quickly and a lot of the time if you ask for something that missing they'll say that they are out. (One day only pineapple was served as a fruit, the other day no tomatoes or bell peppers so only lettuce was left) There is NO COMPLIMENTARY COFFEE! The first 5 star hotel I've stayed in that charge for an Americano , cappuccino or esspresso. They do serve black coffee out of a pitcher.
The looks of the hotel is good. The rooms look nice , the lobby is as well.
We've stayed at two other 5 star hotels in Hanoi and there is really nothing to compare , and the price is similar, so I would suggest you stay at...
