Our stay at MERCURE hotel is exceptional in every. regard. We are here to attend the Serenity Cup 2025 and it’s very convenient location - across the street is the game venue. From the moment of our arrival, the hospitality and professionalism of the staff created an atmosphere of genuine warmth and care.
The dining experience was consistently excellent, offering a variety of high-quality dishes prepared with great attention to detail - sumptuous foods! The spa facilities provided a truly relaxing escape, while the lounge offered an elegant and comfortable setting for unwinding. We were equally impressed by the gym, which was impeccably clean, well-equipped, and enhanced by the inclusion of a hot sauna.
Our room is spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay with comfortable bed. We especially loved the stunning view from our room, a welcome tray, and bottled water to hydrate in this hot weather. Maybe - a small room for improvement is the sink in our bathroom is slow to recede. Otherwise, our bathroom is pretty spacious and well lit.
Additional services such as complimentary laundry, and a (30) thirty minute foot massage, the hotel’s reliable transportation added remarkable convenience to our stay. Each aspect of the experience reflected thoughtful consideration for guest comfort and satisfaction.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the entire team at MERCURE hotel for their outstanding service. A vey special thank you to Thanh (lobby), long (Jason), Thang (the only server in the lounge, 27th floor), Louis and Mia this early afternoon at the front desk (5the floor), laundry staff (sorry I did not get your name/s), and most specially to Ms Hana Huong Reservations Manager for being good correspondent and provided us complimentary Serenity Cup 2025 tickets. This visit has set a new standard for hospitality, and we look forward to returning in the future.
We appreciate you and thank you for making our stay memorable and enjoyable!
Very respectfully, Mr Rhyss Hizon and Mrs Jean...
Read moreA touch of luxury in Haiphong. Very tourist-friendly. Staff are able to communicate in English and are happy to help when they can. Signage also in English and Vietnamese. Prices per night are very reasonable for the room sizes. Room was large and well-furnished. Lots of room to place your luggage. Bathrooms are also very nice, well-lit, good mirrors, and reasonable counter space. Everything is clean. Coffee, tea, and filtered water is topped up every day.
There's a reasonable-sized gym on the upper floors. It's not large by any means, but it has all your standard machines. (Not exactly sure if it's also open to the public, but I did see a few locals use the facility.) Outdoor pool is clean with one shallow side and one deep side, but not heated (so use at your own risk if travelling with children). Plenty of towels to use at your own perusal. Bar is situated by the pool too. There is also an in-house massage parlour (did not use so I can't say too much about it). Everything was very clean, and kept neat and tidy.
Walls are thin, however, so you will hear your neighbour. (Luckily, did not hear any karaoke during my stay IYKYK) Plumbing is a common issue with these high rises too; expect some slow drainage when showering. Takes about 1-2 hours for the water to drain completely. There was no bath option in my room, only standing-shower. Hot water also takes a while to kick in when you turn on the tap, but not a deal breaker.
Overall, one of the better stays I had in Vietnam. If I had to return, I'd happily book with...

My stay at Mercure Haiphong was incredibly comfortable and pleasant. (I usually don’t bother writing reviews unless I’m either very satisfied or very dissatisfied, but this hotel definitely deserves a good one!) The view from the swimming pool was absolutely amazing - even on a cloudy day!! This hotel was clean, and every staff member I encountered was friendly, especially the woman at the front desk who checked me in and out (Unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name). I was also really touched by the general manager's gesture. They gave a special letter for my special occasion, signed by the general manager. It made me feel they truly cared about me. :) And the breakfast was obviously delicious! I really liked the international selections, Korean, Chinese, American, Vietnamese, and more. There weren't a lot of dishes, but everything was tasty. (Especially the noodle soup! A must-try! There's no need to go anywhere else for noodle soup in Vietnam.) I will definitely stay at the Mercure Haiphong again when I...
