We checked into this hotel twice, as we went to the local Cham islands for two nights. We got a good feel of the place. The hotel is well presented. Clean and looked after. The hotel cleaners are good at their job and also the staff who cooked the breakfast did a really good job. Thought we was on to a winner! Unfortunately the customer service on the front desk is really poor. It first started with the free bike hire. The bikes have no brakes and are in real need of tlc in general. Explaining to the staff a bike with brakes would be nice! If a scooter pulls out while on the road I would be in trouble. They looked at me blankly and began twisting out the brake adjuster which was already all the way out. As a bike mechanic I walked off and found another with half a brake but had a broken bottom bracket. Five days before staying we asked if the hotel could book us a local taxi from the hotel to the ferry port, not an issue they said. On arrival it was still not booked, long story cut short and asking and asking if they could book it was eventually done at 7:45 but our ferry was at 8! Was told a 10min ride which turned out to be 20min. We was so lucky the ferry was running late as we would of missed our boat. A long wait would of been required at the ferry port for the evening ferry. Not impressed when they said they would do it and it was not done. At the breakfast table, coffee, juice, cups, glasses and knives and forks was always out. The staff would walk near the table and could see. But would not use there initiative to restock. My self and other customers would be having to ask can I have a glass, can I have some coffee please as the coffee in the glass jug is out. We got given our omelets to which we asked for some cutlery to which the young lady just looked at us as to say eat it with your hands, the impression I got. Just really hard work. The hotel is almost like a home stay, the kids would be sat at reception playing computer games, the young lady at reception who was the most hard work and the reason for me having a pop was also on her phone a lot. This attention to detail was very poor by her. The other gripe which if you stay you will soon find out! The air conditioning units in both rooms are above the bed, I will attach a photo. This is pointed straight at the bed and even on a low fan setting and the single skin duvet you get cold! Moving the room temp from 16 to 24 deg makes no difference as the air leaving the unit is the same temp. It was a case of going to bed with a jumper. The air conditioning unit is placed wrong in the room. We are a English couple who heat the house only with a log stove and have the bedroom window open at night even in the winter so we are not a soft touch. Our night's sleep was very much broken because of this. Three nights we stayed a dog would bark bark and bark close by from 6am and into the evening, this woke us up. The hotel owner needs to tell the dog owner to shut it up! Also a local cockerel was also in on the fun but only in the morning. The room door is paper thin so if them loud shouting back packers come back you will be woken. I don't normally moan in reviews but I come away frustrated...
Read moreTo say that we enjoyed our stay at Horizon 2 Villa is an understatement. My wife and I spent just over a month there. The owner was very helpful in many areas she even organised a cake and a roses for us for our wedding anniversary. Such nice people. The staff were always happy and helpful. Breakfasts were always good and came with a friendly smile. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The pool was clean and well maintained and was a pleasure to enjoy at the end of our many walks around the area.Horizon 2 Villa is in a nice quiet area and is a flat walk of about 25 minutes to the Japanese bridge and the river.Walking will give you an opportunity to see the different amenities in the area e.g. restaurants, bars, mini marts, pharmacies, street food vendors, bank ATM's, phone sim card suppliers and much more. We had enjoyed our stay here so much that we booked in at a later date but our circumstances changed and we regrettably had to cancel our booking. I am sure that anyone looking for good clean comfortable accommodation in Hoi An at a very reasonable price will find it at the...
Read moreOur 3 night stay at Horizon 2 Villa was pleasant. The hotel is located about two and a half kilometers from the old town. This hotel is more in the budget category and provides value for money if one is looking in that category. For the price we paid we cannot complain about the facilities though very basic, the room and bathroom was clean and well maintained. There is a coffee and tea maker in the room, as in a kettle, however, the coffee is not normally provided. The breakfast selection is home-cooked and tasty though limited There is no wardrobe in the room nor a suitcase stand, you are also required to remove your footwear inside the property. A small dipping pool is located at the entrance. The owner and her staff are friendly and ready to assist. Overall our stay was nice, if our kids were travelling on a budget trip we would definitely recommend this...
