Pros: The rooms are spacious and comfortable, they have good air conditioning, strong water pressure in the showers, and very cozy beds. While the decor is somewhat outdated, the overall quality remains high. The pool areas are serene, with plenty of available sunbeds and a well-rounded poolside menu. The staff are friendly and eager to make your stay enjoyable, though there were a few missteps The spa offers excellent massages at reasonable prices. The hotel provides generous promotions, including discounted spa treatments, a complimentary set menu meal for lunch or dinner, and a free silk tour. Free bicycles are available, which is especially convenient given the hotel’s location slightly outside the old town. We were allowed a late check-out at 1:30 PM and offered a free upgrade upon arrival. However, we declined the upgrade as it lacked a bathtub.
Cons: Noise is a major issue. We stayed in the Trendy Wing, where we could hear every door closing, voices from the hallways, and, on one morning, loud construction starting at 8 AM. The hotel appears more luxurious in photos than in person, with some areas feeling outdated. The in-room hairdryers are old and weak. The gym wasn’t the best quality, the air con was poor and they had two treadmills, one of which didn’t work and the equipment in there needed an upgrade. There was a good selection of weights however. Breakfast is underwhelming, with a limited selection of fruits, yogurts, and no granola. The omelette and egg station was inconsistent, with eggs often coming out undercooked. Additionally, the only tea option was Lipton, and when we requested an Americano, we were told it would cost extra despite breakfast being included. While well-intentioned, the staff can sometimes be intrusive. Additionally a significant issue occurred at check-in when we were charged twice for our stay. We were informed that the refund would take three weeks to process, which is far from ideal when traveling on a budget.
Overall: Our stay was decent, but the hotel has room for improvement. Given the price point, it may not offer the best value compared to other hotels our friends stayed...
Read morePhotos make the room look newer and better than it really is. Our room was spacious with a comfy bed but outdated. The bathroom could do with a revamp and the stone floors had dirt marks all over them. We struggled the most with noise at night and in the early morning - dogs barking constantly from the property opposite, doors slamming, banging from hotel maintenance in another room and voices from other guests. Not much space to store clothes or toiletries. Only shampoo and body wash was provided and it smelt and felt like it was bought cheap from the supermarket. Hotel had 2 pools which were really nice & had plenty of sunbeds. Breakfast was average - no selection of teas (eg earl grey, English breakfast) just Lipton. Was told I would have to pay extra for an americano. Egg station was hit or miss - omelettes often came out undercooked and ingredients had flies on them. There was no muesli or granola only kids cereal… Staff were friendly but sometimes came across pushy and asked a lot of questions. We used the free bikes everyday, which meant it was a quick 10 minute ride into old town. On checkout we were told that the cleaners were missing a mug, two spoons and a laundry bag from our room… very odd but we cleared it up and didn’t have to pay an extra. Gym was ok - good selection of weights but the cardio machines were all out dated, with 1 out of the 2...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Mulberry Collection Silk Village for 1 week and overall, it was a fantastic experience. From a free room upgrade to exceptional amenities, my stay was memorable and very relaxing.
Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that we had been upgraded, which set a positive tone for the entire stay. The rooms themselves were truly amazing. Spacious, well-designed, and tastefully decorated, they exuded a sense of luxury and comfort. The beds were particularly noteworthy, providing a restful and rejuvenating sleep every night.
The hotel offered a free breakfast, which was good, however, as a vegan, I would have appreciated more plant-based choices. While there were some vegan-friendly items available, an expanded selection would have been appreciated.
The staff at the hotel were generally helpful and attentive. They were quick to address any concerns or questions I had during my stay. However, there was a slight downside as they occasionally seemed a bit pushy when it came to promoting tours and activities.
The hotel's complimentary shuttle bus service into town was very convenient. The hotel also had two lovely, big swimming pools. We also had amazing massages at the hotel's spa, which I highly recommend-probably one of the best massages I've ever had!
I would definitely come back and thoroughly...
