My partner and I stayed for 3 nights at Okra Homestay in a private room and had a wonderful stay. This homestay is such a gem in Hoi An.
The location is ideal - it is located on a nice pretty quiet street a little bit outside of the old town, just a few streets away from the rice fields, which makes it quiet and not too busy, but still very easy to access the old town and all other sights to see in the area. They offer free bicycles to use which makes it super easy to travel around the town - it is only a short ride to the old town or the beach (very nice ride to the beach through the rice fields). It is also easy to walk or get short Grab rides everywhere.
The room was very spacious and clean and the bed was big and very comfortable. The common spaces and cafe were also beautiful with lots of space to hang out, and there is a (seemingly - we didn’t use it) fully functional kitchen. They also offer laundry service for a fair price and even hung out the clothes we didn’t want to put in the dryer.
I know this homestay also has dorms/is also a hostel - it was rather quiet when we were there (might just have been lower season) so I would say it wouldn’t have been the most social atmosphere for solo travellers when we were there, but it was perfect for us as a couple and there is a lot of nice common spaces to meet people so it might be more social in higher season. Also we didn’t stay in a dorm so might’ve been more social there.
Finally, the staff working there was lovely, so kind and helpful, the girl at the reception was so nice and gave us so many good recommendations for restaurants, cafes, attractions, tailors etc. when we arrived, and even answered any question we had on WhatsApp within minutes when we or she was out. They also stored our luggage and let us use the showers after check out on our last day since we were taking an evening flight. Also they have the two cutest corgis in the world :)
Overall this was definitely one of our favourite stays in Vietnam and we would absolutely stay there...

Read moreI stayed two nights here and so far this place was the best dorm I stayed for the past two weeks I have been in Vietnam. Owner and staffs are all so kind and friendly and will help with everything you need.
Shout out to the super nice staff lady that let me check in at 8am because I arrived so early from Nha Trang 😭🥹🥹🫶 may god bless you always.
Free breakfast and they're great, you can choose type of eggs you want, bread, fruits, they even serve simple noodles for breakfast.
Location wise it's not the closest to Old Town if that's very important to you. But I think it's perfect between old town and the beaches and also some rice fields (you should explore cafes around the rice fields they're really great).
They provide free bicycle to use!
Room is all good but a bit too high for a small person like me 😂
One thing that may be need improvement is the toilet, I think it needs better ventilation.
Oh and also take note that they have dogs that stay there all the time! The corgis are super cute and lovely 😭♥️ but take note if you're sensitive to animals/fur.
They have lovely lounge area where you can meet other travelers too.
10/10 recommended. Super nice place and people. I will come again. Thank you, Okra...
