Luxury is a gross overstatement for this hotel – there is definitely nothing luxury about the Hera Luxury Hotel at all.|However, the hotel is situated in a very convenient location. Within walking distance of Tan Son Nhat airport. Even though walking is possible if you have suitcases such as we did catching a grab or taxi is very easy & inexpensive.|Our room was large with a terrace type balcony, the air conditioner worked well once it got going, the bed was hard like most of the others in Vietnam. There is only a cooler not an actual refrigerator in the room. The 7/11 a few doors down sells ice in a 2kg bag, we had our drinks on ice in the bathroom wash basin to keep them cold.|There are quite a few places to eat around the hotel and plenty of convenience stores & spa’s located within walking distance.|There is a rooftop pool which was the reason we chose this hotel in the first place. The pool area is quite run down and neglected. The water was pleasant and there is a nice view from the rooftop area. |There are no towels provided in the pool area, when we requested pool towels this seemed to confuse the staff. Ultimately, we were told towels would be taken to the pool area by housekeeping, unfortunately this didn’t happen. |The tiles around the pool are slippery when wet so anyone using the pool needs to be very cautious. The elevator does not go all the way to the pool you will need to walk up 4 flights of stairs to access the roof top area.|The staff are helpful but not overly friendly. I had arranged for airport pick up prior to our stay with the hotel through my booking on booking.com but this didn’t happen.|Honestly there are most likely nicer hotels just as close to the airport for a 1-night stay this hotel was OK not great or good and defiantly not as the name says “luxury”. Overall...
Read moreWe booked a last-minute hotel room for 5 hours between flights. It's super close to the airport (taxi was 150,000 dong leaving the airport). Taxi back to the airport was 40,000 on the meter, and the driver shouted about 9100 fee on a receipt - so 50,000.
There was a small pool on the top floor - which you need to walk up the flight ls of stairs between level 10 and level 11. Nice to have a swim. There weren't towels provided for the pool - I did ask down at reception for some, but they never came to the room/pool area with them by the time we finished our swim. The bar fridge wasn't cold, so neither were the drinks in the room. There was a fridge downstairs, and a few other conenince stores nearby too.
The room was a good size, and the bathroom was new and modern - but didn't have an exhaust fan (the small window may have opened). There was a wall hairdryer that had some power, but gives you a sore finger from pressing down the button for soo - always annoying for people with long thick hair.
It bucketed down, and we rushed into a Belgian beer cafe a block away. We also tried Thien Huong Japanese down the road - I...
Read moreWe chose this hotel mainly for its location near the airport and hoped it would be a relaxing stopover before our next trip. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet expectations.||The breakfast was very underwhelming — essentially just a simple soup (similar to pho), some bread, and rice. There were no eggs, no ham, no jam, no milk — nothing that would qualify as a proper breakfast, especially for kids. While the soup itself was decent, it wasn’t enough to carry the meal.||The biggest letdown was the pool — it was completely closed during our stay due to being “dirty,” according to staff. There was no prior notice about this either during booking or before arrival. The water looked more like a pond than a pool, which was incredibly disappointing, especially since the pool was one of the main reasons we chose this place.||Overall, a big disappointment. If all you need is a bed near the airport, it might do. But if you’re looking for a comfortable place to relax, eat well, or enjoy amenities like a pool,...
