I stayed here with some relatives because it was in close proximity to the airport, and it was a good value for the quality of the rooms because it was newer and modern. The hotel is off a small street, alley-like from the main road. We arrived late after bouncing around central Vietnam, close to midnight and the staff was professional courteous, and speaks English. The security helped us with our suitcases. They collected my passport, and informed us of the breakfast hours, which is included with our stay, and the room rate I got included airport shuttle service so I coordinated that with them for the next morning so I could head back out of VN.
The rooms were clean by western standards, comfortable, and modern, even though it’s a smaller hotel. Call me crazy but I chose this hotel also for the bathroom. I really needed the shower to be separate from the toilet. I know it’s standard for toilets and showers to be next to each other in Asia without any dividers but it really bugs me when the entire bathroom gets wet. Trust me, my relatives are locals and they will wet everything, including the toilet, walls, and floor. Although there was a glass divider, the water did seep out of the shower as there was no barrier on the floor between the shower from the rest of the bathroom. Only 3/4 of the bathroom floor was wet.
The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was strong. There are snacks and drinks in the room, and will charge you for it when you check out. When the hotel’s shuttle driver arrived, he was polite and helpful with my bags. I said good bye to my relatives who stayed behind and one of the staff overheard us speaking Cantonese, and he wished me well in our language as I took off. My point is, for a small hotel, their customer service and language abilities is beyond what a I expected.
Once I arrived at the airport, I gave the driver all my leftover Vietnamese money and he was polite and declined. I insisted he take it because I didn’t want to take it back to...
Read moreI stayed at the Thanh Long Hotel during the time of the pandemic. I had been backpacking around Vietnam before the borders had begun to close and I needed to return home. Han and the other staff at this hotel were so extremely welcoming and accommodating. After some difficult experiences in the north of Vietnam, the welcome we recieved was deeply restorative. We weren't sure how long we would be there before we could secure a flight home (the flights were being cancelled/rescheduled admisdt lockdowns and responses to the virus) so it was important for us to be near the airport. We felt safe, cared for and very supported during our time there. Han had even upgraded our room when I found that our room didn't have a window, as I was nervous about spending the whole day indoors without sunlight & feeling claustrophobic. The balcony was really lovely, and I actually found my time in the room enjoyable. It was a good place to scream out in joy when we did actually secure a ticket! I'd told Han that I'd write a review and came across the hotel card when clearing out my things just now - perhaps better late than never. Thank you Han, and the other staff, for taking such good care of us. For welcoming us when we felt scared and unsettled, and for choosing to remain hospitable, open and loving during a very uncertain time. We returned home safe and sound. And we still appreciate your kindness years after our visit. We hope you...
Read moreThis hotel is located close to the airport and is overall a good hotel.
The room is a standard size, and is decorated well, although the transcript on the wall did amuse us and will probably feature in my cards that I give to my husband from now on (see photo and you will see what I mean) This does make for memorable moments so I hope they don't change it. Bed was comfortable and clean. Bathroom is again of standard size, and is adequate.
Disliked · We arrived but the as the room was not ready we left our bags with the reception in the hope that they would move them to a more secure area or even closer to the other bags, which they assured us they would be, however when we returned they were still in the same spot we left them. Bathroom is like a wet room, shower doesn't drain away quick enough and I noticed another drain next to the toilet but that too doesn't drain away quick enough so the floor floods a little. we did arrive just before 6 am for breakfast which was when we were told breakfast started, (we had to leave shortly after this for a flight so wanted something to eat) The coffee was made up but still cold as the machine hadn't warmed it through yet, the bain marie's were not very hot but had food in them. We ended up just having a bit of fruit...
