HongHome The Cactus Building — Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

We’ve had the pleasure of staying at Hong Home twice during our visits to Ho Chi Minh City, each time for a week, and it’s been an absolute delight both times!

This homestay is a gem, offering a seamless self check-in and check-out process that makes everything so easy. If you ever have questions, the hosts are incredibly responsive 24/7 via Zalo or Airbnb, which we really appreciated.

The prices of the all rooms are absolutely reasonable despite it located right near the main district, Quan 1, Binh Thanh so it’s super convenient for exploring the city. If you have a moped like us, the private gated parking is a huge. The building has an elevator, and the auto-lock door with a password, feeling safe and secure throughout our stays.

The room itself is fully furnished and thoughtfully equipped with everything you need: a fridge, a TV, a sofa, a dining table, water dispenser and all the kitchen essentials for cooking. There is a cleaning lady that was an absolute star—friendly, attentive, and so helpful, keeping the place spotless.

Another highlight is the vibrant neighborhood. There are tons of restaurants, cafes, and bars within easy walking distance, so you’re never short of food and drink options.

Jennie (below) pretty much summed up our experience at HongHome. We were coming to HCMC for five nights and were a bit overwhelmed with where to stay. We think we ended up in the perfect spot. The unit was very comfortable, private, secure and quiet. There was plenty of filtered water, strong a/c and seating areas. The location was fantastic - so easy to walk to the more touristy areas but also to some more local areas with hidden gems. Hong was incredibly responsive and was more than happy to help with requests. Someone even came to clean halfway through our stay and she was so friendly. I stayed at HongHome for almost a month with my partner, and it was truly the best experience. The service was excellent, everyone was extremely helpful, always just a message away whenever we needed anything. What touched me most was how they even checked in on my health when I wasn’t feeling well, which was such a thoughtful gesture. It’s small acts of kindness like this that really make a place stand out.
