We were excited to check into our home stay located in district 1. It was brand new, located by a beautiful green space and the river. However it didn’t have the easiest drop off and pick up spot to catch a ride. The apartment was as cozy with the exception of the bed in which we woke up the first morning stiff and sore. They did accommodate us with a mattress topper but the bed was still incredibly uncomfortable. The room was hot even with the AC blasting at its coolest temperature and we were accommodated with a fan which helped. The fan also helped with creating white noise to muffle the loud street noise. The street in front was dirty, muddy and littered with garbage. For the most part our stay was okay but the real kicker was getting blasted out of a deep sleep by the fire alarm. We jumped out of bed thinking there was a fire but it was a false alarm. There is no one onsite so we had to call someone to let them know and we had to shut the alarm off ourselves until someone arrived to ensure everything was okay. They had the fire system checked the next day and said it was due to the system being dusty. The building inside was very stuffy and seemed like it had poor ventilation. After we were reassured that the fire alarm system was checked and all was good we noticed the smoke detectors were no longer on. When we brought it to their attention they gaslight me saying not to worry. Luckily there were several people on the WhatsApp communication thread and one of them got the importance of having a functioning fire alarm. This stay made me realize the importance of having someone onsite to deal with problems like this. The fire alarm was very unpleasant and unnerving. Due to the hard bed I barely slept the 6 nights we stayed and with the addition of the fire alarm I wouldn’t stay here again. The maids were great and we are sorry we forgot to...
Read morePutting 1 star until we get our check-in code unless it goes beyond our patience. Homestay support is slow and no check-in instructions yet until day of stay. Left stranded outside with our luggage and baggage. (No response when we called since 4.30am - 7.30am)
Update: Staff contacted us within an hour of our SOS. They were able to support us to store our luggage at lobby. We were given hope to topup for an early check in and room upgrade but because staff insisted us to change on trip.com; the room were eventually taken up. We are still grateful for the lobby luggage storage.
Update 2: Staff allowed us to shower at their lobby toilet with assistance from their maid upon request. Staff were accommodating. We hope to improve our experience after entering our room, to be updated.
Room was fantastic, facilities are great, big comfy hard bed, cool toilet, we even get to use the laundry. Besides being in a location where you had to walk because grab drop offs can’t access any nearer, when it was raining or checking out with the luggage’s can be a little tricky, all else is great. 5stars and recommend for those who want a stay away...
