Hotel Nguyen Anh — Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

I don’t recommend this hotel for the following reasons:

The rooms and the entire hallway reek of cigarette smoke. I had a horrible headache when I woke up because of it.

The bed, pillows, blanket, and my shirt smell like cigarette.

The hotel is unbelievably noisy! I could hear people talking from the main floor even though I was on the 6th floor. It was so noisy that I wasn’t able to get a good sleep at all!

The room is not equipped to air out especially cigarette smoke. The fan is very noisy.

If you want your room to be dark for a good night’s sleep, well, this is not a great place for that. The door is probably made of painted glass, so it is very bright at night.

Last but most importantly, the hotel manager is unreasonable and dishonest about the price of the room and room assignments. We stayed at the Six Hotel for 2 weeks, during which the previous manager was more reasonable and diplomatic in doing business. However, the new manager took over, subjected the hotel to massive renovation, and in the process, disconnected the air conditioner and Wi-Fi without having the courtesy to inform us beforehand. As a result, we had to relocate to the Nguyen Hotel. We were considering staying in this hotel on a weekly ongoing basis; however, we lost interest due to the bad experience we started having. It’s unfortunate because I love the location, but I understand that business is business, and you cannot expect to be treated fairly everywhere you do...

rooms are quite small but clean. beds were comfy and we loved how the bathrooms were built. no complaints about the A/C, which worked the whole time we were there (unlike other hotels we’ve experienced on this trip). the location is a bit far from the center where the activities are (15-20 min) but the street has plenty of food and a convenience store.

the only thing is, the bathroom ceiling tile in 601 had a hole right above the shower head (which we covered) and the bathroom door tends to get stuck if shut too hard. also, there is no breakfast or microwave available.
