We booked three nights and were offered a driver to pick us up from Ninh Binh train station and also allowed an early check in.|They upgraded us to a pool facing room as our room wasn’t ready even though we were early which was a nice touch.|The room smelt amazing when we first entered, they had some oil burning, what would have been an added bonus is if they did this every day when they cleaned! The room was spacious which was a nice change from a lot of hotel rooms in Vietnam, so we could take clothes out and pack and organise our items well, we also had a wardrobe with a safe.|The shower was great, with three settings/heights. A suggestion would be larger or more towels just to help dry the floor after. I’m sure these are available on request. |The pool was lovely; a fairly good size, again in Vietnam these are often too small to actually swim but you could get a little exercise in this one and its very pretty lit up at night.|The staff were really friendly, kind and very helpful. A guy called Bank gave us some insider info on what was best in our time with our interests and the season. He suggested an amazing spot not in the guides that isn’t filled with tourists. He also managed to get us a driver for a good price for the day to take us wherever we wanted. Thanks Bank!|They do offer bicycles and scooters for a small fee and we found ourselves cycling around the area easily getting to the temples and pagodas close by without the fear of a million motorbikes racing down your back!|The location is brilliant, it’s right by the lakeside so very scenic 200m walk home from the lakeside/centre area. So it’s close to everything but calm and peaceful for rest and relaxation. The breakfast was good but could have more options. |We would also recommend the garden spa around the corner, best massage we had in all of Vietnam with lovely staff. |The staff at King Kong also kindly let us have a swim after we had checked out and were waiting for our bus to Hanoi. |We spent a while researching where to stay in the area and are very glad with where we picked. |Thank You...
Read moreThe hotel is pretty with all the trees despite it making the swimming pool always dirty. The hotel is not worth the money at all. The room does not look exactly like the pictures, and it is quite humid. The pilow sheet had a hole. The bed was squeaky and uncomfortable. Due to humidity, the wall painting was coming out. The breakfast can only be served from 7:30-9:30, which means you will probably miss it if you want to do a tour. The hotel also tells you that you need to do the check-out max at 11:30 am despite the info of 12:00 pm on Booking (as the place is so money driven, I would expect them to charge every extra minute). The hotel forces you to pay for early check-in by not allowing you before check-in time even if the hotel is empty (I think only 2 rooms were booked during our stay). It also means that you can not use the bicycle if you do not have done the check-in. We were surprised by it as we have stayed in 5 different hotels in Vietnam, and it has never happened. Also, the English of the people is really poor, and you might not be able to get your questions or breakfast orders through. Don't stay here. We wish we would receive compensation for the bad hotel. It's totally overpriced, and the return for your money is low. You can use your money in a lot of different places...
Read moreThis place is definitely one of the nicest hotels I’ve had! It’s really nice rooms, super clean and friendly staff! Hot water in the shower (which is needed when it gets cold in Tam Coc, it gets cold specially if it rains). You do a lot of walks at this place so they have a FREE service of foot bath! You just let them know in the morning that you want a foot bath later and they will buy it outside your door with different herbs etc, so good for your feet! And then you just top it with some hot water in your room. They also have bbq at night which we had a few times, very delicious and cheap! You can rent bikes, bicycles and they can help you in knowing what to do in Ninh Binh/Tam Coc and the prizes everywhere! Good breakfast (Thai breakfast, but ask if you need eggs etc). It’s also located in a little walk by the lake so it’s very quite and still very close to everything! Honestly had a great time here and lovely staff helping with everything! If you are planing to stay in Tam Coc, this is definitely the...
