Our recent family getaway to Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc was nothing short of a dream come true. As a family of four, including two adults and two children, we had the pleasure of staying in a sea-facing room with a balcony, providing us with breathtaking views of the azure waters and creating a serene backdrop for our memorable vacation.

The prime highlight of Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc is its unparalleled locality. Situated on the idyllic island of Phu Quoc, the hotel boasts a private beach that instantly transports guests to a tropical paradise. The convenience of having direct access to the pristine sands and crystal-clear waters allowed our family to enjoy the beauty of the South China Sea at our leisure. The private beach offered a tranquil escape, perfect for both relaxation and family fun under the sun.

Adding to the allure of the location was the hotel's proximity to two of Phu Quoc's major attractions – Grand World and Vin World. These entertainment complexes, featuring amusement parks, shopping, and dining options, were just a stone's throw away from Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc. This strategic location made it incredibly convenient for our family to explore the island's attractions without the hassle of long journeys, ensuring that every moment of our vacation was maximized for enjoyment.

One of the noteworthy services at Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc was the ability to exchange currency from Dollars to Vietnamese dong. This feature eliminated the need to search for external currency exchange services and provided a hassle-free experience for international travelers. The hotel's commitment to catering to the diverse needs of its guests, including currency exchange services, exemplified its dedication to ensuring a seamless and stress-free stay.

The hospitality extended by the staff at Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine eagerness to make our stay memorable. The check-in process was efficient, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our family's needs. Throughout our stay, the level of service remained consistently high, with staff members anticipating and addressing our requirements with utmost professionalism and warmth.

The mornings at Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc were a culinary delight, thanks to the superb breakfast offerings. The breakfast buffet featured an extensive array of options catering to various tastes and dietary preferences. The freshness and quality of the ingredients, coupled with the attentive service, made each breakfast a delightful experience. From local Vietnamese specialties to international favorites, the diverse menu ensured that every member of our family started the day on a delicious note.

The hotel's transport desk proved to be a valuable resource for arranging local sightseeing tours and airport transfers. The convenience of having a dedicated service to organize our exploration of Phu Quoc, coupled with reliable and comfortable transportation options, added an extra layer of convenience to our vacation. The staff at the transport desk were knowledgeable about the island's attractions and provided valuable insights to help us plan our excursions effectively.

In conclusion, our stay at Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc was a perfect blend of luxury, convenience, and hospitality. The hotel's idyllic setting with a private beach, coupled with its proximity to key attractions, made it an ideal choice for a family retreat. The ability to exchange currency on-site, the impeccable hospitality of the staff, the delectable breakfast options, and the efficient transport desk services all contributed to an unforgettable experience. Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc truly exceeded our expectations, offering a haven of relaxation and exploration on this enchanting...

When we went: 5 nights end of May to start of June 2025

Who went: 2 adults, 2 children (3 year old and 10month baby)

Service: 10/10 • All staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and polite. They were clearly well-trained in delivering luxury-level service. • As bilingual speakers of English and Vietnamese, we found communication with the staff seamless. Despite some negative reviews, we personally found their English to be more than adequate. • The staff were wonderful with our children, engaging with them warmly and effectively. As parents, this made a big difference—our kids felt genuinely welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. • Although we didn’t use room service, the staff kindly surprised us with a cake for my husband's birthday. A heartfelt thank you for the thoughtful gesture!

Property: 8/10 • The hotel’s reception area is expansive, with plenty of seating available for guests to rest throughout anytime of the day. While it is an open-air space without air-conditioning, the high ceilings and generous layout help keep the area naturally cool and comfortable. • When booking, I was aware that the hotel is located in the northern part of the island. While this may feel somewhat isolated for some, we specifically chose it for its proximity to the theme parks—it’s only about a 10–15 minute drive, making it incredibly convenient. • The hotel grounds and landscaping are beautifully maintained. That said, I did notice lots of mealy bugs on the frangipani trees—hopefully they’ll be treated soon to preserve the garden’s beauty. • The beach is stunning, with plenty of lounge chairs and towels readily available. Due to the size of the property, walking to the beach can take some time if your room is situated near the main entrance (about 5–10 minutes). Ours was located closer to the beach, so it was just a quick 2-minute walk. • There are two main pools, both relatively shallow—you can stand comfortably in the deepest areas (I’m 175 cm tall). This seems thoughtfully designed with safety in mind, as the resort caters to families. The oceanfront pool features a dedicated children’s pool, jacuzzis, and wading areas—perfect for our 10-month-old to crawl and play in. • One downside is that floaties must be rented at a rather steep rate of 200,000 VND per hour. Pools close at 7 PM, just after sunset, which is entirely reasonable for safety, especially considering there are no lifeguards on duty in the dark. As an Australian accustomed to strict water safety standards, I see this as a responsible and commendable decision by the hotel.

Extras & activities: 8/10 • The gym is fully equipped and well-maintained. • The children’s room provides a wide range of activities, including both complimentary and paid options, making it a great space for kids of all ages. Our toddler enjoyed making paper flowers with the teachers onsite. Thank you for your services! • The games room includes three gaming stations and a separate board game area. However, we recommend adding a wider selection of board games, as the current variety is quite limited. • Having visited Phu Quoc before, we’ve noticed that water sports are generally limited. This may be due to the rougher conditions on the northern beaches, but on calm days, it would be great to see options like kayaking offered—with adequate lifeguard supervision for safety. • A small but disappointing detail: the floaties by the pool are not complimentary. It’s a shame to see them sitting unused in the sun. Offering them free of charge would greatly enhance the guest experience, especially for families with...

We went to Phu Quoc for 4 nights and stayed at the beautiful Crown Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay and we would love to go back!

From the moment we arrived until the minute we left, all the staff were so professional and friendly.

This is our 3rd time to Vietnam, as we just love this country and Vietnamese people are so friendly.

We usually go on tours when we travel in Asia. This was our first trip where we just stayed at the resort the entire time because it had everything we needed and was just so wonderful.

There are 2 restaurants on site that serve delicious and reasonably priced food: Horizons and Amber Sands Beach Club.

I was so impressed that the executive chef ,Le Minh Sang, was checking out the breakfast buffet and took the time to ask me if I had found food to eat and to let him know if I needed anything. I think this chef really cares about the guests and their experience as his staff are proof of his great leadership and example. The whole staff provided such great service with a smile the whole time we were there. This is not something we typically see at large hotels/resorts.

Breakfast was always busy, but the wait staff were on top of it and always had a smile. Each morning they would take our order of coffee. I asked for their recommendation of Vietnamese coffee and it was delicious! Ngoc and Frank were super friendly and had great customer service.

Breakfast buffet was good and had: Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, American, and European food. There's something for everyone and the hot dishes changed every day.

We ate lunch and dinner at both restaurants on site and everything was good. The presentation of our meals at Horizons was something you would expect at a 5 star resort. The pizza was delicious. We enjoyed our desserts in the evening, lounging on the bean bag chairs overlooking the ocean at Amber Sands Beach Club.

The pool was beautiful with views of the ocean and fun for kids to play. This is one of the few resorts we have been to that had a small toddler pool and play area, floats for rental ( 150,000 VND for a regular tube and I think 200,000 VND for a giant Unicorn tube).

We had a premium room with 2 double beds and as a family of 3, it was the perfect size. We had partial ocean view and it was beautiful.

The resort had it's own private beach that was very clean and you can tell they take care of their property.

Near the pool and beach there is a small basketball court, archery, badminton, and beach volleyball. Indoors they had a play room for kids with wall climbing and also a separate room with a couple large screen tvs for video games.

The resort provides a free shuttle a few times in the evening to Grand World (5min bus ride). We went a couple nights to Grand World to check it out and have dinner. We missed the bus to go back on 2 different occasions. So once we took a grab back to the resort for about 30 VND and another night we just walked back which took maybe 15min.

Our 10 year old son said 4 nights was not enough and he didn't want to leave. It was just what we needed to release some stress and enjoy family time.

We have traveled all over Asia (Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and China) and I think this might be my favorite resort because of the beautiful property and the friendly staff. I hope they continue providing this wonderful hospitality that makes guests want to go back because of the great...

It wasn’t the 5 star service I expected, and overall we are not having a pleasant stay. I overlooked and booked a double bed room instead of a single bed room thru 3rd party agency, and I called to front desk to see if there is any room available for room move. And the female staff who picked up the phone confirmed there is a room available and we could change that right away, but 5 mins later she called again saying the room has a defect and NO room is available and we have to approach front desk next day morning for changing the room. I looked up trip.com and crown plaza official website checking if there is any premium single bedroom (same room type I booked, but different bed type) available for sale that night, and what confused me was those rooms are still available. Then how come the front desk said there isn’t?? So if I booked a Single Bedroom right away, are they still gonna gimme a double room?? The next day, I approached the front desk before breakfast, tbh the front desk lady who attitude wasn’t that nice, she questioned how come another staff would confirmed me there was a room available (how would I know??), then I requested any kind of single bed room will do whether is a smaller room or what, she confirmed NO single bed room is available unless I book for a Villa. Again during breakfast I looked up Crown Plaza official website, the premium single bed room is still available for sell. This is NOT the kind of service I expected from Crown Plaza or any 5 star hotel. After breakfast (about an hour later), I head to front desk again as I prefer the double bed on my left hand side just like the photos posted on the official website. Andy said there wasn’t any double bed room available that the bed is located on the left hand side, instead he offered me a single bed room in a smaller size with an ocean view. He allowed me to check the room first, and I do really appreciate his effort, he is a professional staff with a great attitude, the only highlight of our stay. So I took the room, but as soon as I moved in, the hot water is not working, and they sent some engineers to fix it for about half an hour when we needed shower immediately. Can anyone explain, if Andy could get me a room with one single bed, then why the female staff could not?? She confirmed me Twice! That no single room is available, I have told her I could take whatever single bedroom they have, but none of them offered me the room Andy offered. I am not impressed after all these and would definitely not recommend Crown Plaza to any of my friends. Ps. The IHome Bluetooth device is not working both in 321 and 451 room, please check :)

Today is my last day at Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc. It's been an absolutely amazing week long stay. I booked the Work From Resort package with some great inclusions. The room (and the view) was perfect and was exactly as I expected from booking. The staff have been very friendly and lovely, trying to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. Regardless, of how long you stay for this is an amazing resort. Great pool, safe beach swimming, amazing sunset views. Thanks to Thao at reception for helping with my queries and following up. Thanks to Darry the Amber Sands restaurant manager for checking in on me and helping me feel welcome. Quan, the poolside waiter was fun and upbeat. Thanks for remembering my name and taking a few moments to chat was appreciated. I can't shout out specifically on the housekeeping team but my room was always well cleaned and refreshed for me. But the biggest thanks for a great experience has to go to Chef Sang Le. Now let me start by saying the breakfast buffet is amazing, with so much choice and variety. But Chef Sang was very concerned that I didn't like the food and wasn't eating enough. After the first few days of trying to assure him I was ok, I gave in and let him cook me something. The food was absolutely amazing! I appreciated that you remembered I don't eat meat and love mushrooms. Eating your breakfast was a highlight of my stay. I've never had a breakfast experience like it and I'm sure I will not have this again. Thanks to Milan for letting Chef Sang know when I'd arrived for breakfast and supporting a great breakfast experience. A special mention also has to go to Queen whose beautiful smile beaming in the morning was unforgettable and a great start to my morning. There were other team members whose names I didn't catch but the whole team provided a great experience over my week staying here. The menus across Horizons and Amber Sands restaurants offer great choice, the food is delicious and great value for money. This review wouldn't be complete without a couple of very minor suggestions for improvement - the lifts and the lift lobby areas are very hot it might be useful to look at some fans for these areas. I had trouble ordering from the QR codes where these are on the curved umbrella poles they may need a flatter surface. Both of these things did not impact my stay. If you're looking for a beautiful, quiet and safe place to enjoy a wonderful resort and beach in Phu Quoc, you won't be disappointed with the Crowne Plaza. Thank you again to the amazing team :)
