HORRIBLEHORRIBLE *HORRIBLE||AVOID AT ALL COST!||This was easily the WORST ever experience I have ever had with a host and accommodation in about 4 years of using Airbnb.||||I very unfortunately booked a 4 night stay in this shabby horrorshow resort due to its fairly attractive fake listing on Airbnb and its flash looking pool... Warning! dont be fooled by the pool its not even grouted, but more on that later.... ||||The listing stated that it was a 2 bedroom bungalow with a bathroom. I was travelling with a friend, another adult guy and I presumed that this meant the bathroom was seperated from the bedrooms as you would expect in any 2 bedroom type of accommodation.||However when we were checked in by the resort staff we were shown to what the mysterious online 'James' character refers to as a 'Family' bungalow.||This is essentially a 1 bedroom property where the living area has been converted into another bedroom with the bathroom at one end of the building. This meant that whoever is in the 2nd bedroom has to walk through the 1st bedroom in order to access the bathroom. While this 'Family' bungalow set up may well suit a couple with kids who could occupy the back bedroom it is totally unsuitable for 2 adult friends sharing a space and I would obviously never have booked a 4 night stay had I known the actual layout of the bungalow which was not explained at all in the listing.||||I texted the mysterious 'James' character to tell him that we were surprised to be offered a bungalow with such a strange set up and if there were any other options available. ||My message was quite straightforward and polite but I was quite surprised by the tone of his reply as he told me to "calm down" ||I thought this was quite rude and immediately guessed that I was dealing with a character who was actually very unpleasant underneath the smiling wholesome looking American boy pictured in his (probably fake) profile picture on Airbnb. ||He offered to change the bungalow to a couple of single rooms which backed on to each other down near the restaurant end of the resort which we immediately agreed to not wanting to stay in the weird layout bungalow at all. ||We moved into the separate rooms and thats where the fun started! ||||Both rooms were quite shabby and old looking with hideous brown 70's style tiles on the wall and both beds were rock hard with cheap hard pillows. ||I had a plastic inbuilt ||shower which had a really manky green plastic rug at the bottom to cover up the cracks in the weak, bendy plastic floor which bowed omminiously when stepped on... ||Immediately next door to my room was the parking garage space for the shuttle minibus||and the rooms were directly opposite the reception and restaurant area. ||Not really liking the shabby old look of these rooms and the bad location I asked the staff at reception if I could speak to the mysterious 'James' character. ||I was connected to a Vietnamese guy on the other end of the phone who said that he represented 'James' and that the 2 rooms we had been offered were the only option. This was obviously nonsense as the resort was almost completely empty (unsurprisingly) and there were lots of empty bungalows near the pool and the whole block of rooms above the pool was empty. But 'James' wanted to punish us for complaining about his fake listing and if you read the other bad reviews posted on Trip Advisor etc regarding this character you will see that he has treated anyone else who complains in exactly the same manner..... by putting them in the cells down near reception... ||So we decided to give the horrible single rooms a go and see how it was. This was a big mistake. We should have walked there and then. ||We also rented a couple of scooters from the resort as we wanted to explore the area. This was another mistake as both the scooters had really bad brakes, broken wing mirrors and were generally in a dangerous condition. ||After going out to eat we returned to our punishment cells to try to sleep. || ||My room had 2 large ceiling height double glass doors which was the entrance but they had no curtains covering them and as soon as I turned the light off I realised that this was a huge problem as it allowed all the ambient light from outside and lights from the restaurant and reception straight into the bedroom which meant it was lit up like Piccadilly circus on a friday night... ||There was no way I could sleep with so much light coming through the doors and it's actually ridiculous that anyone would rent out a room like this without covering the doors with curtains but then I was in the punishment cell wasnt I? ||I improvised covering some of the light pollution up by hanging the bed runners from my bed and my friends bed (he had a normal wooden door) over the top of the doors which blocked some of the light out but not all of it and what a crazy situation for a hotel guest to be in just to make a room sleep able in. (Fawlty Towers anyone?) ||I settled back to try to sleep on the horribly hard bed and then noticed the really loud humming coming from the massively overpriced minibar which had been installed to try to screw some extra money put of the guests. ||After unplugging this I also noticed there was a really bright light shining from the aircon unit so I had to stand on a chair and cover this with a T shirt to damp down the light.||I settled down to try and sleep once again and...... that's when the dogs started barking..... lots of them... lots of different packs of dogs all around the back started a territorial dog war, howling barking and growling and whining for hours and hours... ||I finally fell asleep about 4.30 to be woken exhausted around 7AM by sunlight streaming through the half covered glass doors. ||The minibus which was parked right next to my room was then started up by the driver at about 7.30 and he turned the radio on playing music, opened the doors and windows and left the engine idling for about 20 mins. ||There was also hammering and general building noise coming from the building site opposite so I gave up on any hope of sleeping any more. ||I texted the mysterious 'James' character that morning to explain the issues with my cell but he failed to reply and seemed to stop responding at that point.||||I spoke to the resort manager that morning to see if she could fix the problem with the glass doors bearing in mind that we had another 3 nights booked into this dump. ||||I'd like to mention that the actual resort staff were fairly helpfull but I think their hands were tied by the overall appalling attitude of whoever actually owns this place and I suspect that 'James' is a fake western character placed there to lull other westerners into a false sense of security. ||||My friend and I then departed on our dodgy unsafe rental scooters to look for other accommodation having already planned to cut our losses and escape from our punishment cells. ||We quickly found a superb brand new hotel with a full size pool on a hill side with Panoramic views of the sea. This place was a 100 % improvement on Hong Bin resort and yes it was actually £4 a night cheaper! ||We booked into the new place immediately and returned to the horrorshow to pack our bags and check out. ||||I didnt think there was much chance of securing any kind of a refund from 'James' having already realised this was not a reputable or fair entity but nevertheless texted to point out we had left and why we were leaving. ||This time I got a responce to my text which was not surprisingly a refusal to refund.||||The text I received was written in very bad English which confirmed my suspicion that I was dealing with the Vietnamese owner or agent of the resort and not the fake American boy profile presented on Airbnb. ||||If you check out other complaints against this resort you will see that they never take responsibility for their own failings and never refund badly treated customers. ||In fact their usual responce is to just deny anything was wrong on their end and blame the customer which is what im sure 'James' ||Will attempt to do with me. ||All you have to ask yourself is would anybody actually bother to write a review this long and detailed unless they were seriously concerned about the overall attitude of this host? ||||We lost over £200 because of this dubious listing and would have been happy with even a 50% refund as a good will gesture. Be warned however that there is definitely no good will from the mysterious 'James' character if you have any problems with your accommodation at the Hong Bin horrorshow resort and you will be treated with the utmost contempt. ||||PS after complaining to Airbnb itself they put the case through their own adjudication system and made 'James' refund £143.00 for having an...

The listing stated that it was a 2 bedroom bungalow with a bathroom. I texted the mysterious 'James' character to tell him that we were surprised to be offered a bungalow with such a strange set up and if there were any other options available.
I had a plastic inbuilt shower which had a really manky green plastic rug at the bottom to cover up the cracks in the weak, bendy plastic floor which bowed omminiously when stepped on... Immediately next door to my room was the parking garage space for the shuttle minibus and the rooms were directly opposite the reception and restaurant area. I really believe people on here are mistaken. Yes, it's beautiful grounds however it's a tired hotel. The soundproofing is terrible. 4 russian couples upstairs, one couple next to us, that's a party of 10 and it sounds like an earthquake 24/7. Beds are vile, in England it is counted as unmade and bare. No matteress protector or topper, just one thin sheet on a springbed from the 50s. No blanket or duvet just an empty duvet sheet as a throw?! ONE PILLOW!? SO MUCH FOR HOLIDAY A. Feels like a NHS hospital at best. My back, sides and hips are bruised and my neck is agony. I'm used to camping on the ground but this is something else. No soundproofing. I heard the neighbours take a #2. Loads of grounds however NO SECURITY AT ALL....oh except at 7am when he waters the grounds. Bathroom is a horror show, sink is hanging off the wall, shower is a smelly tube with a slimy floor. No extractor fan, just a filthy grate covering an open window that can't be closed (upstairs has a leak and it's like an overflow pissin out every hour or so that's so clear to hear) No bar. Dead "skyline" they boast of was shut down....not even cleaning the toilets next to the pool or switching the lights on. NO DRINKING WATER AVAILABLE EXCEPT AT RECEPTION AND IM UP A TON OF STEPS SO ITS SO HARSH, CANT EVEN CALL DOWN AS THE PHONE IS MISSING. See videos. My cups were broken and dirty and my teapot had a used teabag in it. Wardrobes TOO creeky. Lights are very bright and the night /reading lamp is fitted with an energy bulb that just keeps getting brighter. Nice mozzies zapper but it's connected to the light so can't be used alone at night if you want dark. Safe, fridge WITH NOISY MOTOR ,cable TV,fan, kettle hairdryer and toiletries. Towel, free water(tiny bottle 335ml) coffee. An actual mini bar with pot noodles, snacks and drinks❣️
A "threat list" of prices you need to pay for the tat if you break it instead of a welcome pack with hotel info. SO TACKY👎
Pool is filthy and people drunk in it till 3am, no one to inforce the rules.
Staff seem friendly but shady, check your card payments. I paid, lady went to sort my receipt and I had the confirmation from my bank drop in my notifications on my phone. 2 mins later, bloke appeared, they tried to get me to put in my pin. As A paranoid English woman it ain't gonna happen. They made a deal of photographing the drop down however I'm from the English coast, we made these blags. The face said it all, deflated and desperate. I have no proof but I will find out how many attempts were made. Cleaners are loud and not considerate, can't speak English to help but when it's time to leave, asking at 8am what time were out. When I arrived one went into my bag pulled out and item, showed it to the other cleaner laughing. They're cleaning skills are seriously lacking. When I left no one asked how my stay was just full on checking mini bar. Never again under this slack...
