“Great place, lovely hosts, authentic local feel”
We wanted to stay in a Bungalow next to the beach in Ganh Dau, as we wanted to see a fishing village which maintains its local charm, rather than the western-looking large resorts.
We came across Dum Bo bungalows, and it was a great choice. We emailed her saying we'd arrive very late, and she promptly responded saying that no problem and that the room was ready for us.
When we arrived, they were still awake in their bungalow waiting for us to come. We stayed at a nice Bungalow with swimming pool views. All bungalows with sea views were already booked, but the seaside is literally 20 meters away. The Bungalow was spacious, very clean, with AC.
The managers are a lovely retired Vietnamese couple, and she made every effort to communicate with us: she mastered the use of Google Translate with her smartphone, so we kept sending each other voice messages translated by Google. Our room was right in front of the beach, offering stunning views. Watching the sunrise and sunset while listening to the sound of the waves every day was incredibly relaxing and healing.
The room was spacious and well-equipped with a kitchen and a washing machine. While there’s room service, the resort doesn’t have a restaurant or offer breakfast. I love cooking for my family, so having these options nearby was perfect. The stay was very comfortable and peaceful.
For those who prefer dining out, Phu Quoc Kim 2 restaurant is right next door.

No receptionist, everything was dirty, bathroom had flies everywhere and the room smelled like an ashtray. Pool was nice and towels were big, that’s about it. Picking up garbage from the beach area would be a start. The ocean water is clean here and swimming was good!...
