I stayed here the 2nd time in August 2017 because of a good prior experience. However it was a nightmare this time around. The 9 of us arrived around 9:30pm only to find out none of our rooms are ready, despite our local friend had physically gone to the hotel earlier that day to triple make sure they would be ready for us. The next hour was spent in room scrambling and key shuffling, finally we got to sleep in a temporary room by midnight. The next day 5 of us moved to our new room, which is the same room I stayed last year. We were there for 10 nights and the towels were not changed once. The rug in the living area was never cleaned or vacuumed, the cookie crumb that fell on the ground the first day was still there when we checked out. 2 of my friends stayed at the room below us and they got woken up one night by rats. The worst part of this trip is toward the end when we realized our money has been gradually stolen during our stay. 3 days into our stay one of the girls couldn't find her $75 in her backpack when we were going to exchange money. We thought maybe she just misplaced it and she would find it later. 2 days later another girl found she's missing 100 kwacha and again we thought she either misplaced it or spent it without remembering it. Then a few more days later I found $20 gone missing from my wallet, and I reached out to the bottom of my suitcase where I have some cash sealed in an envelope, only to find out the envelop has been torn open and $500 has been taken. I told the front desk the next morning as no one was on duty at night, they said they will report to management and get back to us. We went to see management late that afternoon and he had no clue what had happened, told us to come back tomorrow morning after he speak to the CEO that night. We went next morning and this manager Sam somehow insinuated that we might be stealing from each other, which is extremely insulting and unacceptable. 2 hours later we finally got to meet with the CEO Diana, whose first word was "I only have 2 minutes for you", we told her what happened and her first response was "why do you keep money in your room?" and "why did you wait till last minute to tell us?" As if she knew when the money was stolen... We tried to tell her everything that had happened: the dirty towel, the rats, the roaches, the missing money, etc and we had informed the front desk of all as things were happening but nothing was resolved. This is where she flipped - she got up and started to scream at us, yelling and repeating "who do you think you are? You don't come to my hotel and quarrel with me! You stay at my hotel and I expect you to pay!" She literally was YELLING at us on top on her lung! We tried so hard to keep our composure and to talk to her as mature adult but she kept screaming then stormed out of the room. Honestly I wasn't expecting them to find out who took the money or give us any compensation, hotels all around the world are not responsible for lost property of their guests. I know that. But the way they treated us throughout the whole ordeal was extremely rude, unprofessional, insulting, and shady. This was my 3rd visit to Zambia and I'll be going back cause I really love the country and the people, but I won't be staying in Nomad's court and I don't think anyone should if you want to be treated fairly like a...
Read moreI was there from 08/18 thru08/29 with a missions team that fed street kids. First to begin, the beds were NEVER changed, towels smelled mildewy and the cleaning lady just changed towels and ran a dirty mop across the floor. It gets worse. Amongst our team, a total of $700.00 American USD was stolen from us. Instead of finding out who did it, they suggested that perhaps we stole from each other! Now, if we are there using our own money and time, what sense does it make for us to steal from our own? We were wlling to over look the dirty towels, the sheets that were never changed (we discovered that all they did was smooth over the bedspread to make it look like the sheets had been changed), and the dirty pillowcases that broke us out in rashes on our faces. But when we saw how nasty they treated us when we told them about our money being stolen, we decided to take to social media for our justice. And that is what thid is all about. Zambia is a beautiful county and the people are simple and wonderfully hard workers. But like anywhere, there are those who choose to steal and lie and cheat and those who put their head in the sand, pretending not to see it. Management chose, in this case, to trip over a dollar to pick up a dime. In other words, they just lost thousands of dollars in business (there have been at least 5 groups of people there in the past) because it was more important or easier to blame victims of theft than to get to the bottom of the matter. Their behavior and attitude towards us was ignorant at the very least. Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's the best. Someone needs to go to a real business school. I'm sure there are great ones right there in Lusaka. Oh, and while you're at it, take some classes in hospitality. It...
Read moreI had read mixed reviews about this lodge and was little sceptical. But unfortunately finding self catering apartments in my budget was hard, so went for this one.We choose 2 bedroom executive apartment.||The booking in process was not smooth.I emailed...no response,I called and got it booked and requested confirmation by sms as their internet was not working. Then after couple of days got response by email too......confirmed our date of arrival and nights of stay etc........a day before leaving called again and lo behold we were still not booked....okay so they had availability and booked us there and then but for 1 bedroom apartment....arrived next day and managed to find the 2 bedroom one also available so went for it....||The lodge was clean and well maintained. Our apartment was clean and sofa, bed, carpet etc was clean and apparently less used. The kitchen had less crockery and cutlery but a phone call to reception rectified that.||The pool is nice and well maintained and we made good use of it all three days of our stay....The lodge offered breakfast to its residents and it was fresh and well balanced.||Overall we had good time and mean to stay here again the next time we...
