I live close to this place and this is a great park but so many dogs without leads and one dog, as big as my 8 yo daughter, run making scared my daughter and my girl friend's daughter on Sunday. All of them had trauma experience with dogs. The owner was laughing to see this which made me humiliated. How if this guy's daughter was in my daughter's position, could he laugh? The Marion council has to force the dogs owners to put the lead on. The other dogs owners played with their dogs by throwing balls and the dogs caught those balls, running quickly at the middle where my friend and I were sitting, which were very rude attitude. The dogs owners do not obey the sign which mention the dogs should be on leads. We are paying taxes expensive so we should enjoy this public facility. Oaklands Wetland Reserve is a lovely park with plenty of BBQ facilities, ponds, birds and walking trails. It's development is a welcome invitation for all sorts of wildlife to come and live in.
This wetland is a great way to introduce a young child to nature and create fond memories for them to feel connected to the world around them.
UniSA invites visitors to help them track the wetland's development through taking photos. They even set up an orienteering trail for you to track and follow which adds an element of purpose and fun to visiting the area.
