We are writing to formally express our deep dissatisfaction with our recent stay at Big 4 Anglesea, which fell significantly short of expectations due to a failure to honor commitments made at the time of booking.
When we booked our accommodation in July 2024, we were assured over the phone that our suites would be 104 and 105, as we were traveling with another family and specifically requested adjoining suites. We were further informed that, in the event that someone else wanted to book one of these suites, reception would contact us to provide the option to secure the suite by paying an additional fee.
At no point during the following months were we contacted by your team regarding any change to this arrangement. Based on this, we had every expectation that the agreement made at the time of booking would be honored.
Upon arriving on January 2, 2025, we were shocked and disappointed to learn that only one of the originally promised suites was available. Instead, our family was allocated Suite 113, which was not adjacent to our friends' accommodation. When I, Chloe, raised this issue with the staff member at the front desk and reiterated the assurances given to us during the booking process, I was met with an unprofessional and dismissive response. The staff member claimed that the information I was given over the phone was incorrect and stated that your venue does not offer such guarantees.
I attempted to explain our situation and the impact this had on our planned holiday, but I was repeatedly interrupted and spoken over. When I requested to speak with management, I was told that no one would be available until Monday, January 5, 2025. Despite waiting on Monday for a resolution, no one from management contacted us as promised. Given the circumstances and the lack of any attempt to rectify the situation, we decided to leave at 5 p.m. on Monday, foregoing the final night we had already paid for.
This experience was extremely disappointing, especially for first-time visitors. The failure to honor our booking, the dismissive and unprofessional attitude of your staff, and the lack of any follow-up or resolution from management were unacceptable, particularly during a peak holiday period when we expected a higher standard of service.
As a result, our entire holiday was negatively impacted, and we no longer have any confidence in your venue’s ability to meet customer expectations or fulfill its commitments. We are seeking acknowledgment of this issue and a response detailing how you intend to address this matter to prevent similar experiences for future guests.
We regret to say that, based on this experience, we cannot recommend Big 4 Anglesea to others and will not be returning in the future.
Yours...
Read moreThat's our first time visiting Big4 Anglesea Holiday Park. We ( 4 Adults + 2 kids) are Big4 + Perk members too. The owner so nice as I asked them we are able to enjoy the current offer, which is $400 instead of $450 as we booked very early. Appreciate that they gave us the offer! What LEGEND!
We arrived on time and checked in with Karen at the reception, where you'll receive a nice and warm welcome. She gave me the map and showed me the bike trail as a safe way to ride with your little 1. We love the bike trail, easy and pretty fun for the kids along the ride. You will see the magnificent playground next to the river, and you can also ride to the seaside. (It can take a day for the ride if you go with the little one.)
Winter traveller - Glamping @ The Safari Tent (Elephant statue), the tent is quite spacious and provides a heater and aircon. Pretty well and quite powerful for the heater. You may need to bring a portable heater and extension wire if you need a warmer to sleep in the sofa bed or for movie night ( you have to bring along your projector and project on the tent). There is no TV as a camping idea.)
They do have towels x 4, face towel x 2, hairdryer, extra blanket x 2, toilet paper and tissue box. BBQ at the patio, microwave, mini fridge, tea, sugar, coffee & chocolate powder drink. My girls love the hot chocolate and request few times from Karen. They love Karen (LOL). I had a hot bath at the patio, reading and watching a movie. That's my 1st bath of the year during the trip.
Things you might need to bring for basic cooking: sauce pot, frying pan, portable gas stove, peeler, salad bowl, spatula, and a drainer. BBQ provided a tong and BBQ utensils.
The little cute cubby double-deck bed and the Hot Pool with slide are iconic for the girls. No JOKE !! the kids hardly to getting out of the pool. They spend about 2.5 hrs in the heated pool, jumping pillow, pirate ship and the sand pit. We had a great time and definitely will go back with a group of friends.
Overall, the public toilet, game room, and camp kitchen at the holiday park well well-maintained and clean!! BRAVO !!
Suggestions: Add on for the Glamping tent - Pots, frying pan, peeler, salad bowl, and A basic bathroom organiser hanging on the shower head. We need a fire PIT, my girls were looking forward the roasting marshmallows for this trip. Finally, we did it on the...
Read moreSo so bad, my husband and I decided after decades of camping we will not do it for a long time...if ever again. Camping in Victoria is now a farcical joke, absurdly expensive, impossible to book, poor amenities, and surrounded by the dregs of humanity. It was not always like this. Charged nearly $1000 here for a very small patch of artificial grass for 5 nights. ABSURD. Small, very crowded park, overated. Dirty bathrooms and toilets. No security gate, there is theft in the area watch out. Do NOT come here if you are an adult without toddlers. Do NOT come here if you have a teenager. It was so bad we left after one night. Welcome to the era of the Victorian multicultural feral bogan. Loud, obnoxious, no manners, no class. Throws rubbish. Torments wildlife. No idea. One monoculture watching b-wood movies until 1am banging pots and talking loudly, large group. Another monoculture speaking loudly and shouting in their mother tongue with kids shrieking until midnight. Another multicultural new 'aussie' skulked and paced in front of our campsite VAPING. When asked politely not to, she scowled and skulked away. VAPING husband vaped outside the toilets with a hoody. Do NOT come here if you have a teenage daughter. If you want to vape around your child, DON'T assume you can around mine b. Went to office to advise we are leaving due to feral behaviour and noise. Sue feigned sympathy, finally refunded us at the end as Jess was starting to create tension with her manner. Jess who has NO idea about customer service went into verbal battle lecturing we should have told the 'night manager' therefore it is our fault. Would not refund as Trent the manager was very very busy bla bla bla GUESS WHAT JESS? Trent was behind the office door 10 feet away. Stop lying. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for guests behaviour, not your $1000 paying customers. Tell your 'night manager' to stop speeding thru the park at 10pm and then disappearing. When packing up the skulking vapers lit up. Went to office and told them all. All three ladies feigned sympathy, Trent still hiding. Guess what they did? That's right NOTHING. If you book here looking for Anglesea holiday utopia you will only find a dystopian nightmare.. .. My personal experience...
